It´s a 2 and 1/2 year old rig, but still the game is not bad optimized compared to the visuals. It´s very cpu demanding but it´s not like you can´t play it with a medium end rig.

Yes, but the problem is that with a medium rig you should easily be able to max out the game, which doesn't happen.
Add that a very limited set of graphical options and you get a shit port.

Oh and that "2 and a half year old machine" you got there still beats the shit out of almost anything out there today, but you know that.
You're just making fun of me because of my inferior hardware. Sad Crying or Very sad

I was just amazed to see that ac2 ran at steady 60fps with 8xaa, thought it was well optimized.

I also only had problems for one day, and since my AC2 was the Digital Deluxe one, I could choose a free game between Tom Clancy's HAWX and Prince of Persia (2008). Those with the standard edition had their game upgraded to deluxe.

Yeah, but I preordered the game on Steam, and played it right away, so I was one of a few ones that got problem because of DDOS attack from 4chan, and I got a free game for it. Logic fail?

They will be using the DRM. That's for sure! However, can't tell how 'intensive' it'll be.

I have completed AC twice with the "Always on DRM" and once recently with the more relaxed DRM.

Never had any problems.

My Connection is 10 Down, 1 Up, but that's beside the point, since the game doesn't require a lot of bandwith.

I'm not ignoring the fact that some people have had trouble with this DRM (Saw a lot of complaints on the Steam forums), so maybe I'm one of the lucky few or something...

I don't have 10MB... well,at least not privately... and I tried to connect to UBIlauncher, didn't work at all, I'm sorry, but gaming is not ready for "All ways DRM" because it's cause problem for MOST people and I just read Ubi last year interview today say "they feel sorry and understanding for people that want to play Offline" what an impudence ,YOU CAN PREVENT THIS but NOT Using this AWFUL DRM AT ALL! there are Better methods to gain more sales, you just Failed, for all this DRM purpose!.

I understand your frustration, I would also be pissed off if my game didn't work. I have experienced that 2 or 3 times since the 90's, but that was caused by early Disc check DRM like safe disc and securom, and my local store wouldn't let me return them! So I had to use Nocd's for the old NFS: Hot Pursuit and for Blair Witch Vol. 1 and for Nocturne Mad

Ps. You don't need a big broadband connection for the DRM, I'll bet it runs fine on the smallest connections, If it's stable of course. Smile

Pps. Have you tried disabling your Antivirus/Firewall or connected your pc directly to your modem? If that works, then maybe you have to open a port or make an exclusion in your firewall.

I did the UBIlauncher check cause I actually wanted to buy AC2 despite the DRM... ,but to make sure it will work of course
as far as I tried, the UBIlauncher didn't work, and I think I tried to open ports... didn't bother that match tough, after hearing the TONS of complains and the game got cracked I basically Gave up on this game at all,I just refused to buy a game that the "free" people are getting 100X BETTER experience then me. so I decided to "expend" this on all Ubititles, didn't even pirate those DRM games(PC versions)

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that you can't run the Ubi launcher directly, I tried that once out of curiosity, but it just failed, but it works fine when launching games from their .exe shortcuts (or the .exe directly).

Ps. I can assure you that I don't love all this DRM crap, and therefore I pirate 90% of my games. But in the case of a game I really like, I tend to buy it regardless of the DRM, since I can always use a crack if nothing else works.

This is VERY VERY interesting. It's also on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/48190/ and there's no mention of it requiring a constant internet connection!

Could... it... be... they are experimenting to see how much it will sell without their DRM??? Surprised Like how the experimented a while ago with completely DRM free games (PoP 2008, HAWX) ? Surprised Did I mention how shocked I am? Surprised

Also the system requirements are identical to those of ACII.

Most of you will pirate it regardless of DRM, so...

Besides, I'm pretty sure you'll have to create Ubi account to play multiplayer, and *GASP* you need to be online to do that!

The servers were down for a short time because they were DDOS'd by DRM whiners trying to make a point... Well, ok.

I think a more wise and user friendly strategy for this last chance kind of PC DRM would see it requiring a connection for the first few weeks/peak of sales then be relaxed/removed with a patch: it would moderate most of the whining and remove the long term usage possible trouble if the service/company goes down.

I'm sorry, but most of us the "Whiners" has LEGAL REASON to "whine" about the DRM Rolling Eyes
the DDOS'd attack was because people were PISSED of on this DRM in the FIRST PLACE!

the game is basically UNPLAYBLE for most of us,I can't even connect to UBIluncher as far as I tested! as is nothing to do with the DDOS'd attack .because no all of us has 10X MB like yours Rolling Eyes
even REVIEWERS has said the DRM cause problems,so stop bullshit about how "harmfull" the DRM it is,you just proving yourself wrong.

and btw,I want to hear way every other company are not using this DRM system?
maybe because they KNOW this DRM system is bullshit to use in the first place Rolling Eyes

here here. i just dont like having that sword over my head.. that potential.. no matter how small.. to have my ability to play a game taken out of my hands - i just dont like having an unknown factoring into it... not to mention, i dont like hoops to jump through... additional 'fluff'.. for a game to work.
