borrowed mgs4 from a friend to finally see what the big whoop was
and it wont load on my ps3 Sad
it goes to the loading screen and then kicks back to the ps3 home menu

Crying or Very sad life suxxxx

consider yourself lucky i guess. from what ive heard its a pretty generic game to play, and if you want the story/cut scenes n shit, just download the full game movie from the internetz... tis what i did, and i dont feel like i missed out on anything i really care about.

i want to play it, cause i love the whole of metal gear shit. Very Happy
If anything it were the ONE game i would ever buy a ps3 for.
Now I have a ps3... and the game doesn't work. Crying or Very sad gonna take it back to the office. Check it out on the ps3 at work. if it works there then the slim ps3 i got is shit. Sad

had this issue its a bad installation , just go into your game data folder delete the game and reinstall it

MG4 are three games in one (Campaign , MetalGearOnline , Virtual Training) and each is installed separately if you use them


vanilla game and virtual training takes 6,5 gig on your Hdd , MGO takes another 2,5gig plus 1 gig for patches , plus 250mb of directors cut stuff you can download etc..

OR

you can delete the system data if you have it in your savegames

if nothing helps
try creating a new profile on your ps3 and then run your copy of MG4

if this won't help you run this game your ps3 is broken or this bd media is fucked

don't have any of those.
All is now loading on the bottom right corner and then jumps back
and nothing gets made.

EVERYONE should play MGS4!, i cant believe so many people whining about the long cutscenes.. jesus christ you want a good game or not? MGS4 is EPIC!

The awesome attention to detail alone is enough to play it(and all the awesome easter eggs).

Cant belive WaldoJ and Chiv aint played it yet Razz

Seriously tho you WONT be dissapointed.

and i got one recently as a gift so yeah... snake is THE game i want to play and I can't. Sad

i start the game up
i get the whole this game does autosave blah blah
i click x
it says loading and then goes back to dashboard.

fiddled in settings of the ps3 to enable its full control over my household, signed over a lease... and now it's installing... 8 min to go.... only god can castrate me now!

Yeah, but that's only if you've played the previous MGSes IMO, since the game has so much fan service and references to the previous games.

First time I played through it was fucking fantastic, never wanted it to end.. I've replayed it two times since, maybe it's time for a third..

yes , but for those that didn't played the other parts you can download MGS DATABASE from PSN for free that will explains some parts

there were no parental controls set.
First thing I did was disable it.
I got the ps3 last weekend. First game I played was GOW3.
There were like wmv playback etc etc... enabled all of them etc...
and mgs4 worked.

awww, thats sucks cuz MGS 4 is a classic. I play it like 2 or 3 times a year. Usually when I have 4 or more days off work (holidays or vacation time etc). Good story and just makes me drool at the thought of the next one where they introduce Raiden/Raine/whatever his name is as the lead character in MGS as MGS 4 is Snake's retirement. I hope they find a way to bring him back in his 30's, old school scruffy, badass self from MGS Very Happy

Very true man. I would love those games in HD. Especially MGS1 and Snake Eater.

I would also love a MGS4 style remake of the old Metal Gear game for NES, would be very interesting if done faithfully. Smile

thanks to emulator you can finish most of those on your PC but yeah a remake of original Metal Gear from MSX would have been great but then knowing how Konami ticks they would make it as NGP exclusive Sad
