So not knowing something because of lack of information, cant be judged as being wrong. Having enough information and then making the wrong assumptions that is being wrong.

soz brosaf but you cant touch me. Cool

You could not even realize you needed the crackfix without having to ask in a thread where its been mentioned about 1000 times.

Really you are last person who should be questioning anything or anyone.

Because i aint got the time to read thru all the shit complains people got about current games. I got better things with my time to do then waste it on reading so many freakin pages of horny teenages that cant get their jerkoff with current games.

Who cares about the consoles etc.? It's your attitude and how you dealt with the whole thing (including your last post which was a reply to my post) that gave you the title. You should be proud, derping is something a large part of the nfohumpers are good at. Wink

And what the hell... "Soz brosaf"??? Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

And i got the full rights to have an additude like that if someone starts to call me idiot, just because he lacks to give information about a certain screenshot.

So please brosaf, mind your own shizzle.

Ok let me put it in another contex for you:

"As the whole "Derp" things came forth on these forums to point out towards the brainless people playing console games how they should played (by pressing 2 buttons for win)"

@Stinky244

No valid reason to ban me (yet..)

Its the pathetic people that go into discussion about shit they have no saying in that should be punished, not the ones defending their rights when they are being called an idiot when someone doesnt provide enough info about a certain thing.

This game is empty and devoid of it's soul. I really liked the first DS1 , the setting. This is like an expansion made by an upstart company that basically recreated the game in a new setting, adding some new monsters (like certain quake mission packs) but totally lacking that: "i just need to reach the next chapter" or "i just have to get the upgrade" etc.. Pity. :/

Got to chapter 6 and so far it seems indeed a bit less atmospheric than DS1.
I loved the level design in the original game. Every chapter felt believable and was designed to look functional. I don't remember any other game set on a space ship that really felt like a functional ship.
In DS2, I was just in a school. Inside the school, in a room with toys, is an elevator that leads towards some industrial looking passage. Reminds me a bit of Resident Evil 4, which was a fun game (and DS2 definitely is too) but the art design was all over the place.

The game still feels like a worthy albeit slightly worse successor, though it's too early to pass final judgment since I'm only halfway through.

Is it me, or does this game have a shitload of recyclage? Sure it's believeable (who'd make every level of an apartment unique?), but it's so boring. Every freakin level in a building is exactly the same. Crawling through ducts? WTF is that shit? Are we children?
There's also zero attention to detail in level design, el zilcho. Everything looks sterile and bland (just like Mass Effect did btw). We can argue that it's a scifi setting ergo people like plastic, unimaginative design in the future, but I'll go for RAM/HW limitations on the consoles. Level design is extremely simple and plain shite.
As for horror, hardly scary. The game relies too much on the sudden scare effect. After some time you can guess where the next baddy will jump out. There's zero tension.

Now I didn't like DS1 much, I must admit that, but I have more fun with this one. I didn't finish it yet, but I think I will. Whether that's because I haven't played a new game for months now or because the game's good, I can't say, but it's enjoyable. I'll say again what I said before, I miss ye olde PC classics. This game is a solid 7.5/10, but a joke compared to the better PC shooters.

I played 1 and 2 right after eachother (didn't play DS1 when it first came out), thought that now with all the praising and part 2, I could just play both thru in a whole gaming session.

Problems, got freaking weird when I heard Clark speak in the 2nd game. I mean, speant about 6 hours with him being silent in DS1 and when I started up DS2 he speaks?? I know they say they wanted to give him personality, but I think the silent Clark was much better...it felt like it was "you" (like Gordon in HL). The other which struck out was that it wasn't scary at all, plays more like a ordinary actiongame. This could however be because I got a little used to the settings and monsters from playing DS1 (admitly that game wasn't as scary in the end as it was the first hours). But still DS2 rush on with hordes of monsters and it takes away a lot of the creepiness. Also this thing with locked doors until you finished off all enemies in the room felt strange...like "Oh I'm locked in, just gonna wait for the horde of monsters to come". I also missed some sort of bosses and they could had introduced more type of enemies.

The good is that it still feels like DS, much like Aliens felt like Alien, still changed genre a bit. So in that way DS2 is what Aliens was to Alien. More actionpacked with more monsters and faster paced. When I think about it, Aliens also went from a spaceship to a colony on a planet...so there's much that could be seen as the same. The controls are also much tighter in DS2, better mouseaim, easier to fill up the stasis meter and over all the layout of the keyboard was better. The backside is that the controls also makes it easier, the panic in DS1 didn't really occur. Much like how the unresponsive controls in RE makes you nearly have panic attacks when a zombie comes at you.

Playing the games so close together I must say I am a bit disapointed in DS2, but only with comparing to DS1. Still it is a good game and I always like space horror movies, and we do not have so many games of those.

It had a purpose in Half-life and it actually created tension. Here though, it clearly is a tool used for streaming. There is zero tension because no pulling gun out = nothing will happen. It's a waste of time. I çan't compare this game to the better RE titles. Besides the genre I don't see many similarities.

Whoever thought of stamping the corpses for loot must've been an idiot.

Use the crackfix.

If you already have it, you need to grab the body in the room near you with TK, and go with it near the scanner.
