Hi free people!
I am in a mood for some good adventure games. I will write down games ive finished and Liked so You get a grip:
-Black Mirror1
-Syberia 1&2
-Ni-Bi-Ru
-overclocked
-Broken Sword 3 (the first 3d BS)
-fahrenheit
-and proboably some other I dont remember right now now.

In those games I loved plot, music... and most important Atmosphere.

Also I will write down some games Ive heard about or games I am unsure to play
-Black Mirror 2(I think I will play this.. just need a little push)
-Gray Matter(WHAT IS THIS?!)
-Also I did not played old adventure games Like Broken Sword 1&2 or Monkey island 3(the cartoony one)

And I think thats as far as my adventure knowledge goes from the top of my head.
Am I missing any improtant known or less known adventure games?

Gabriel Knight series (One of the best adventure game series made, and Grey Matter is made by the GK Creator)

Quest for Glory series (go to agdinteractive for their free remake of QfG2 and King's Quest 1-3)

Shadow of the Comet & Prisoner of Ice (If you like Lovecrafts writing, you will like these)

Full Throttle, Grim Fandango. I know they are in the Lucas collection mentioned above but I didn't want them to get lost among the other gems.

Anyone played Alter Ego, Reprobates(Next Life), Secret Files, Still Life,Sinking Island, Art of Murder ? Are this good? Anywhere near Ni-Bi-Ru or Black Mirror? Can I ask for little descriptions (personal opinions not reviews)

ond btw... isnt Black Mirror 2 made by different company than Black Mirror1?

Play Gray Matter, it's written by Jane Jensen who also did the Gabriel Knight games and it's one of the best modern adventure games.

If you don't mind outdated graphics, the standard of adventure games was much higher 10 to 15 years ago and you'll find plenty of gems from that era.

I second that.

And seeing as you prefer your adventures dark and less humorous, you mgith want to give Sanitarium a try. It's available at GOG.com and is really one of those titles that everybody should play who likes serious adventures but sadly went under most gamers' radar.

Secret Files are good also, with the second game being a little inferior to the firstone in my book. They are well done and comparable to Overcloked, which you listed, when it comes to graphics and gameplay. Black Mirror 2 is ok, too, but as with Secret Files, it falls a little behind the first one and ends quite abruptly. Apparently, BM2 + 3 seem to be one game cut in half, just like Ultima VII, for example.

Alter Ego was decent. Still Life however is one of my favorites. Better than Black Mirror I'd say. Still Life 2 IMO is far worse than Black Mirror 2 though... Oh and yeah Sanitarium is amazing!

Holy crap! Great anserws guys!
I am going for Gray Matter first, Then either Still life or Secret Files, alter ego (depends what I get first)

And big no for Sanitarium! I played this game back in 2000(or whenever it was released) as a kiddo and I am still having nightmares of it.... creepy stuff. Great game but It would kill me more than dead Space2 which I finished yesterday... It was Fun Laughing

Might I suggest Cryostasis? While not strictly an adventure game, it is quite good and has many elements of adventure games. Smile
