can nVidia cards play planescape torment without ini editing and slowdowns?
no.
How about the other inifinity engine powered games without issues?
no
It's likely good for Call of Duty: Black Ops though.
Different things for different people.

I played P:T on nvidia with no ini editing? Same as BG2 that I recently replayed.

Then you had characters walking backwards and sideways.
Though not on BG2 if you used the widescreen mod, as it removes the conflict for you.

I used the widescreen mod on BG2, so that might've been it. But I think I also used it on P:T as well.

Then it was ini edited and you had slowdowns, you just didn't notice them as you weren't aware of them.
The way older inifinity engine, and many other older DIRECTX 6 and 7 games handle mirrorblitting relates to a known bug in the nVidia drivers that pertains to revision 180 and upwards.
Ati drivers don't have this bug.
You had the hardware options turned off for you in the ini, relegating the rendering to your cpu.

Closing this thread as it'll only end in yet another immature flamefest.
