What do you think about this laptop for some gaming ? (No crysis, just midlevel stuff with down-to-earth settings)

Seems the Radeon 5470 with dedicated 1gb DDR3 is really nice, right ?
3 gb DDR3 RAM should be enough for Win7 + gaming (no bullshit running in the background)

But what about that AMD V140 @ 2.3 ghz, how will that fare ? Some googling shows it's single-core and comparable to a Celeron Mad

I'm afraid it may bottleneck/cockblock the whole system.

EDIT: If you have other suggestions, let me know, but I'm on a "beer only, no hoes" budget.

If you're on a tight budget and care for gaming, rethink whether you really need a laptop. Even a 1500€ gaming laptop can't hold a candle to a 750€ gaming desktop.

EDIT: Take a look here for what a 5470 is capable of: http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470.23698.0.html
Paired with a decent CPU you should be able to play most games at low detail settings, but that CPU will probably be a bottleneck.

Well, it's for a friend and he's in some deep shit with the mafia, so he really wants mobile gaming to keep ahead of the hitmen.

Shit, I think I'd rather go with ASUS X52JU-SX022V

50 euros more.

It has a Radeon 6370 which is just a renamed 5470 so don't expect any better peak performance. But the i3 380 CPU is almost three times as fast as the V140 in 3dMark 06 CPU: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html

Definitely a better choice but you/he still won't experience more than the bare minimum of what current games have to offer graphically

I could also get the INNOVATOR NEPTUNE MT-561 in the same price.

It was a joke. I mean he wants a mobile PC regardless.
