Wipeout is very good, the only real issue is that they don't change anything up enough so that it gets really monotonous after a while, you eventually just stop laughing ;(
MXC was a redubbed Japanese show right? And Wipeout is the proper US version of that? I know there's a Wipeout UK now as well, but it started in the US I think, based off that Japanese thing?

Comedy is comedy. Everyone has a different sense of humor. Some people still find family guy to be hilarious and edgy and 'smart' while others rely on south park or maybe even some sitcoms to get their laughs. And vice versa. To many, south park is nothing more than fart and poop and penis inside a vagina jokes where as family guy is original and political and well writen

Modern Comedy = Family Guy

Takeshi's castle/MxC/WipeOut are all about seeing what people are willing to put themselves through. Just like silent library. There's usually a cash prize for this shit. It's fun to watch. It's not slapstick comedy.
This is the very essence of slapstick, people falling on their asses or getting cake thrown into their faces.. wouldnt matter if there's a cash prize in the end, its not what people are laughing at, they laugh at the funny looking dude with cake all over his face or how it looks funny when he falls on his ass.
