So we have dead birds dropping out of the sky - was it like 3000 in Arkansas, 500 in L.A, also in Kentucky (don't know how many), 500 in Louisiana, over 7.000 in Argentina, and today a huge number of them has been found here in Sweden.

And also tonnes of dead fish is washing up, Chesapeake Bay, Brazil, Arkansas..

Anyone have any serious thought about this? Please, no silly apocalypse jokes or shit like that. I'm curious but I have no idea what could cause this..

From what i've been reading about it, the en mass bird deaths happen almost every year, but it was a bit higher this year. I know birds are pretty fragile and can die from all kinds of wierd things. I've heard of house birds dying just from smoking in the house or catching a childs cold. The fish dying (from everything i've seen) has been limited to a single species of fish, so while it does seem really odd, from what we're being told anyway they don't seem to be linked.

With that said, I can't help but think of the stuff they sprayed in the air in The Andromedia Strain to kill all of the crows incase they were infected...zombirds?

Okay, but.. This wasn't just there, it's happening in a lot places over the world.. Besides, we've had fireworks for a huge number of years (I'd even guess the ammount fired at 1999/2000 new years eve would be greater than the one we just had?), and has there been reports of tens of thousands of dead birds any other year?

What about the tonnes of fish then? Coincidence?

Oh really? I'm not questioning that or anything, just that I've never heard of this before.. And you'd think that if this was "normal" every year (even though there are just unusually more of them this year) you'd think they put that somewhere to avoid people speculating Razz

I think this is actually the real thing. It's just that today with all those 2012 theories and movies journalist tend to use any crap to make a sensation.

They have indeedie,

http://www.news10.net/news/story.aspx?storyid=115666&catid=2

That's not the exactly link I was looking for, but a few I have read have mentioned annual bird deaths. Hard to search for now because most of them are the followups where it explains what killed them.. pesticides etc..

Here's the article on the fish, letting us know it was one species and we all need to not panic and accept the end of days peacefully lol

Simple answer, no one knows. Experts can only speculate. There are many occurences in teh animal world we have no clue about. Whales throw themselves on beaches and die in agony, doezens at a time. Birds fall from the sky. etc etc.
2010 has been a terrible disaster year, mass bird death is a nice closure.

Fantastic imagery. Really compelled to start working myself out as a 3D animator/artist after having watched these beautifully rendered scenes. The Taiwanese surely got me stunned on that one.

Add another 50+ in Sweden. The swedes roped off the area and poked them with sticks for a while it seems.

Prolly just some global warming nut jobs haulling their asses across the world throwing birds onto the streets at 4 am to make everyone believe in global warming and how fireworks from new year tore a massive hole in the ozone killing birds and fish and all the bees and somehow the ozone hole sucked up all the dolphins onto the atmosphere where their constant chattering, believed to be pleading for help, can be heard at nasa.

fucking bull shit.

Okay, maybe "global warming" is bullshit, since it's not getting warmer globally - but you can't deny the climate change atleast? Razz

Here ya go Sin, some examples of mass bird deaths the last few years:

http://www.businessinsider.com/heres-the-truth-about-the-dead-birds-falling-out-of-the-sky-2011-1

I also found this, I don't know how reputable the source on it is, but some of the figures are kind of amusing:

http://www.currykerlinger.com/birds.htm
Quote:

Glass Windows

Bird Deaths a year: 100 to 900+ million

Off topic, speaking of "global climate change", I just stumbled upon these:

January 2000

December 2010

comparison

Wished the organisations like ESA, NASA, etc who do these measurements would publish their findings more openly. After all they get their money from taxpayers and their scientific information should be publicly available.
