Look I have a father who was greatly disappointed with me when I bought my first album (something from the Beatles, I feel a bit ashamed now). His 1st album was Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik". He has been criticising me about my musical taste for years and so did my mother. And since age 20+ or so I don't give a flying fuck about other people's opinions about the music I like. Tbh hiphop is not among it but I guess for everyone of us most important thing to like music is by liking it. After that if you are into it you can try to judge music by its technical difficulty or vocal achievements, etc. But to say well that is no music or it is of bad quality, realise that we all know what quality means but it has a different meaning to us (R. Pirsig - Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance).
