actually, it's both imo. sure, basically it's ME without spaceships, but then again it has enough nice touches that almost put it on par with bloodlines etc

You can play it like a silly shooter or you can play it in stealth or use your developed abilities to shape the gameplay however you want. You compared AP to the retarded shit Bond game - another fail. Nothing here is set in stone, story changes, gameplay changes, experience changes, unlike the crap that is bond where you watch a 3.5 hours interactive C-movie. You're giving this game (AP) features it doesn't actually have but was supposed to have. The gameplay changes from boring stealth takedowns (if you go down stealth path) or cover-based shooting (second path). Second path makes the game identical to Bloodstone. Story etc? Come on! It was pathetic. Laughing

I'd rather read John Le Carre or Clancy if I want some spy shit - not that halfassed attempt @ the genre.

AP is a great game, and even if NOT on par with Deus Ex, Vampire Bloodlines and System Shock, it's certainly not a cover shooter like the second option suggests. It's a hybrid between the two possible answers, but in my opinion the first one prevails on the second. Translation: Play it if you haven't already! What I don't like about the poll is how you say "Deus Ex, Vampire Bloodlines and System Shock and even ME1". Are you suggesting ME1 was better than those other 3 incredible amazingly unique games? I hope not! ME1, while a pretty good game, doesn't deserve to lick the boot of those other titles. And neither does alpha protocol. ME1 and AP are comparable though. REPOST

Like I said i'd put it in between. It felt a lot like Mass Effect 2 with a lot more bugs to me. Definitely not on par with VB, Deus Ex or System Shock (all of which I consider amazing).

Everyone laughing at 'DE etc in one sentence' = you haven't read the AP thread in PC section. That's where it comes from and that's why I put it that way. Sorry for not making it clear, but the poll actually means this: Is that p.o.s. AP as AWESOME as DE, SS, VM:BL and even the not-so-deep-at-all ME1 or is it a halfassed attempt at whatever genre it was trying to be? And it AMAZES me that a game of 15 3D TPS shooter levels (!) instead of free-roam locations WITHOUT NPCs (!!) and/or alternate ways to complete objectives (!!!) is considered an RPG on par with the masterpieces. @Waargh: As I said before, Alpha Protocol is NOT on par with those masterpieces, but since the poll is poorly formulated people tend to choose the option that comes closer to their idea of the game, which apparently is rather positive (and I agree).
