I think they should have elaborated a bit on the end, however that last clip was a really nice touch. Such is it always with the end of things, if the game was good, such as this, then the ending must be bittersweet. Overall, great game. Not among my adventure favorites, but in the top10-15 methinks
Finished it also. 10/10 for awesome story, beautifully crafted character and amazing cut-scenes.
Puzzles were all logical and fun. I did got stuck couple of times thanks to arhaic time progression it was the only thing that bothered me besides some clumsiness in coding. Give that part to the makers of Black Mirror and you get one of the best adventure games ever made.
Some ending and plot thoughts:
Spoiler:
I think Laura was real in dream messages, machine, maybe that time in park when apple fell on Davids head and in the wind that made Sam miss London. For all the other apparitions I'd blame Angela. She unwittingly killed her father and Laura and was unconsciously responsible for campus apparitions. Other things she did consciously, she wanted to keep David still obsessed with his dead wife so she'd replace her.
That thing is closed for me. On other hand I think there are two things that aren't properly explained, probably intentionally left open. First is the guy with a mask in Daedalus club. If you remember he knows exactly who David is as he lets him enter. He also helps Sam and its never explained who he is. Second is Davids connection with Laura. Does he finally let her go, or is she still around?
As for the scene after the endings, its pretty obvious. Bride of Frankenstein. David is Frankie and Sam is the bride...
What .dll's if it's DirectX related to use a example it won't usually work to just download some random version of it and instead the DirectX redist should be acquired from Microsofts website and installed.
(Even for W7 and the like as it has files not covered by Windows by default like those extension .dll's and much more.)
It was a nice game, but I was disappointed by the ending...
All the time you had this nice story about this small group of people, and suddenly it shifts to this magic club.
The story was build up quite well, but then at the end they just explain it in short how it was that one person and that's it. Also the showdown was lame.
And the puzzles in the last chapter felt out of place as well. Before you always had to try do to "real life" things like gathering people, aquire information and so on. But then suddenly the puzzles became different, just to make it more difficult.
Spoiler:
And why the fuck did you need to get a pistol? I know she thought that Mephisopheles wouldn't tell her anything, but she didn't even try talking to him before she had the pistol. It just felt so forced and unneccesary...
Nice game, but the ending felt rushed...

Played only the first one, not typical adventure game. Has tons of items and crafting system. Game is very good in the beginning, getting worse around half the way and the last parts of the game feel like the studio run out of money and rushed the ending by substituting scenes with pop-up messages followed by a movie
