I've got 1 minor issue and 1 big issue, dunno if others are experiencing the same.

1 minor :
Music is skipping before the end of the song (on the radio), now I'm pretty sure the xbox doesn't do this because I didn't notice it.
But I haven't put them side by side yet.

1 big issue :
People aren't betting in caravan !
In the xbox version, people bet their money and I can match/raise.
Nobody is putting down money on the pc version lol.

There is definitely nothing wrong with that .dll loader/relinker. Works flawlessly here! Before I used this I was running 1680x1050 with High settings (Low for water reflections since that seemed to cause issues for some people) and getting 34-45fps, 90 with wall crawling. Now? 1680x1050, Ultra quality with every option on maximum, and it's a constant 65fps++ Absolutely AMAZING performance increase while at the same time giving me a visual quality increase too.

But Bethesda says it hopes not to make those watchers wait too long: "We are currently working on releasing patches/updates as quickly as possible for Fallout: New Vegas, for all platforms," says the company in a statement to Gamasutra. "Announcements regarding the patches are forthcoming."

That just makes it TOO fast Sad He has a x6 and a x8 ESP, I wish he had a x3 as that would be the perfect balance of speed and, well, fun. x6 feels like I'm sprinting everywhere.

use the tool ive enclosed + modded esp file ( I dropped it down 1 item for each, it has 2 parts to the mod, this is for the x6 version ) Also included little text file on how-to use program.

any questions use PM

Code:

You can use tool to make changes to any mod you have installed.

That .dll loader or whatever is working like a charm for me, same effect as with Sabin here. I was playing on high and the framerate was very inconsitant, it jumped from 15 up to 90. With this loader I get a steady 70 frames per second on everything on ultra (except water which is low).

Thanks mate! I'll take a look at it shortly. The x6 movespeed one is just way too quick for my liking, really does feel like a cheat and it breaks immersion.

The d3d9.dll fix helps a lot, but there is still minor skipping. Go into 3rd person view and strafe sideways to see it more clearly. It isn't perfectly smooth (jumps/skips).

Also it doesn't seem like the ifpsclamp=60 fix takes effect because it will not stay in the falloutprefs.ini and that change does help remove the skipping in Fallout 3. Hopefully a modder will figure out how to disable the game ignoring and overwriting ini changes and make it behave like Fallout3 or Oblivion.

It's like Obsidian made the game do all these things as a cruel joke. The annoying mouse acceleration, the terrible performance, the frame skipping, overwriting and ignoring ini changes, etc all to ruin their own reputation. There's no reason why my 5870 should get anything less than 60fps at high quality, but even with this fix it's not really there yet. Sad

Check the .ini files as read-only =)

Tried that and while the file doesn't change, the change doesn't seem to take effect. I also tried denying write permissions on the NTFS permissions level and it made no difference. I'm not convinced the change is taking effect for the ifpsclamp command. Sad

Edit: or it's something else causing the frame skipping.

Enabled vsync with the d3d9.dll fix and while it's MUCH smoother, there is definitely frame skipping. As I said before, strafe sideways and you'll see it skip ahead about two or three times a second. There's a very effective framerate smoothing mod for Fallout 3 and maybe that's what we'll end up having to use to fix this.

I don't have vsync enabled and maybe it's just my eyes, but I really don't notice any frame-skipping when sidestepping in 3rd-person view mode :\

I must say that I'm blown away by the greatness of the d3d9.dll fix Very Happy On my crappy pc, I am now able to run with everything Maxed out (except for AA and low water details and medium draw distance in every category) with v-sync on and @1680X1050, I have just played for an hour talking and trading and fast traveling 3 times just to see how the game reacts when jumping from one location to another.

I must say I'm impressed, and I wonder if I can use the d3d9.dll fix on FO3 as well.

What do you guys think?

Apparently it was an idea FROM the original FO3, so yeah - should be applicable there too.

Don't you get speed problems inside buildings when having v-sync off? You know like an old game running too fast...

That comes from vsync?? Gah, I thought it was just the way the game was... and yes, it's really fast inside buildings. Framerate is fine but my char is practically legging it like Sonic Laughing

It's how the engine works, unfortunately. When getting more fps the game speeds up. Has something to do with the ifpsclamp setting I think. Googul it!

Try the setting the "Number of frames to render ahead"/"Flip queue size" to 0 or 1 to see if it helps.
It's an old trick that worked way back with Oblivion.

LOL Smile Yeah, normally I play all my games with V-sync off for maximum performance, but the Gamebryo engine seems to want it to be turned on. Rolling Eyes

That is why I labeled it an abortion of an engine on steam, and got my "flag" burned for doing so Very Happy Luckily, I made contact with a friendly moderator a couple of months ago, when I was battling the Bloodlines "true" patch hordes Very Happy

Just enabled vsync and most of the time it's a full lock at 60fps, got in a huge fight a few moments ago with eight people all kicking off... dropped to mid 40s there. Perfectly acceptable =) Amazing how a little .dll can change something so drastically.

Surprising to me, this game runs perfectly. Unlike F3 in 08 which needed a patch cuz things fucked up.
NV runs so smooth and actually looks a little better than F3

My girl called me a geek cuz I told her i'm gunna be playing this game for a while lol She didn't mind as long as she can sit beside me and I go to bed with her.

She's the most understanding woman I've been with. And I don't feel like bitch when I compromise. Cause she does all the time and puts up with my 'geekness' lol Smile

Calling a tattooed martial artist a geek, makes me laugh everytime
