Quote:

Yeston (China-based graphics cards maker) is preparing a dual-GPU graphics card: a Radeon HD 5770 X2. This card is based on two Juniper GPUs and will use the Lucid Hydra chipset to distribute the graphics workload across both GPUs.

According to some sources over the web, the Lucid Hydra solution seems less efficient than a hardwired CrossFire bridge between both GPUs. The TDP of a single HD 5770 is 108 Watts so one 6-pin power connector for two Juniper is a bit risky…

A mini 4870x2 I suppose.
If the Lucid Hydra does its job properly, that is.

It's not AMD who came up with this, it's the silly Chinese Razz

More importantly: 5770X2 when you can get a 5850 instead? Razz

I suppose if the price is competitive, I don't see why this wouldn't be a viable choice. A pair of 5770s isn't exactly "shite" is it?

Not really, but I doubt it'll be priced low enough to make up for the 5850's TDP of 151; a single 5770 already has a TDP of 108 Razz
