The most hilarious part is this is written by a woman, I love it how many women get angry by this book and when I show them its written by a woman they get confused and even more angry. Its like you cought a little kid stealing candy.

Quote: | Bloom later wrote[6] that he and his publisher had been threatened by Islamic groups who objected to aspects of the book. He claimed that "Arab pressure groups asked ever so politely that The Lucifer Principle be withdrawn from print and that nothing that I write be published again. They offered to boycott my publisher's products — all of them — worldwide. And they backed their warning with a call for my punishment in seventeen Islamic countries." Bloom states that the Attorney for the Authors Guild wrote to his publishers, warning of an author boycott if the book was pulled from the shelves. The publishers asked Bloom to rewrite a chapter on Islamic violence, which led to the creation of 358 lines of footnotes attesting to the facts he presented within it. |
Any book that gets extremist Muslims panties in a bunch must be a good book

I just bought this and What Men Know That Women Don't by Rich Zubaty.
A nice quote from the latter:
Quote: | "Equality" is meaningless. Is a bee equal to a sparrow? Is a whale equal to a squirrel? The term is meaningless. And anyway, feminism was never honestly about equality. Feminism was about MORE STUFF FOR WOMEN. Women don't want to mine coal or get drafted into war. That's too much EQUALITY for them. Just let them have some office job so they can stay comfortable and buy more stuff. Forget that they live 8 years longer than us. Ignore the fact that 19 out of 20 people who die on the job are men. Or 4 out of 5 suicides are men. Or 80% of the homeless are men. That's the other side of EQUALITY and they don't want to hear about it. "Create programs for men? Men already have everything- don't they?....Me?" she titters. "Sign up for the draft? Drill oil? You must be kidding. I'm not equipped for that. That's not the kind of EQUALITY I mean." |

While I agree that some of their ideas are retarded at best, and that lot of times women get away with things by yelling: chauvinist or any similar word, I'm definitely not for 'make me a sammich bitch' approach to women.

Women wants similar rights and be treated similarly then i say fine, throw them in the army like the rest once they reach 18. But i guess that doesn't suit them.

This is pretty much the same nonsense that feminists are spouting, only the other way around.
Yes, yes I'm back.

Well some 20 years ago I read several issues of some feminist magazine (my mother was freshly divorced) and to be honest it wasn't so bad actually. Most articles stayed realistic, more promoting equality than claiming dominant roles for women.

I haven't read the book, but from your comments, it seems to have something to do with feminism and equality between men and women?
As said above, women don't actually want to be equal to men, they just want the same rights and none of the responsibilities.
Also, from a neurological stand point, there is a great deal of evidence that the thought process of men is severely different from women, while men has a perceivable more logical thought process, women is far more emotional driven.
You can look back at history and see that all major breakthroughs in all fields of science and most of the arts have come exclusively from men, and this has nothing to do with social constrains towards women, there were some extremely influential women across the centuries, but mostly on the fields of social interaction and human rights.
Women deserve to be respected and treated with dignity and as fellow human beings, no question about this, but the factual truth is that they aren't our equals and never have been.
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither
