According to these peeps the DLC will not increase lv, only allow 2 more skill points. The patch that comes in October will raise it to 69:
http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=110597&page=120

On top of that PC version may not land until the 30th:

I guess I'll see if my head will explode after all.

Intro if anyone wants a tease:

DLC is out, just finished downloading, also fixes two smaller issues via a 1.0.4.0 patch, this isn't the October gameplay update however which will raise the level limit to official 69 (I'm 72 though which is max via game editing Razz .)

1.6 GB all in all.
(After the previous update to make the game compatible with DLC4 and this 1.0.4.0 update that fixes two bugs and improves compatibility further.)

EDIT:

EDIT: I like it so far, some farming/grinding is necessary but it was the same with the base game as well and the other DLC, humor is great and it still looks quite OK if you like the visual style the game uses, very challenging enemies as well depending on when you choose to play trough the DLC and it seem to have a lot to do, unsure how many areas there are or their size though.

Woo Hoo! Very Happy

The GOTY edition will have everything included. This game has turned into one of my all time favorites. I may have to start up a new toon to celebrate.

I REALLY enjoyed Borderlands - until the last add-on/DLC (T-Bone Junction?). The difficulty on the playthrough 2 is so completely insane in my opinion, I could hardly hurt the first enemy I encountered but instead I got killed in less than 10 seconds. On the other hand playing this DLC on playthrough 1 with my lev. 47 hunter is far too easy....

I really hope this Robot DLC is better balanced (or is it even more difficult ?). Best would be if it would enhance my hunter so far that I can play T-Bone Junction AFTER finishing this one.... Cool

regards

It scales up nicely to the current max level limit and will probably scale further once that patch is out that raises it one final time so yeah if you're on playtrough 2 or 2.5 it's going to be challening, enemies are level 60+ and that's just the start of the new area.
(There's a lot of new enemies as well such as Claptrap variants and Hyperion mercenaries.)

EDIT: That's to say you better be prepared cause it won't be easy but the reward and loot is much better in turn aside from the potential outcome for boss runs in Knoxx (DLC 3).

Yeah the armory of Knoxx was way to easy, except of course for that one side mission where you have to kill that invincible creature lvl 60 I believe, didn't bother trying it personally as I am lvl 47.

Crawmerax is the only real reliable source of good high-end gear though (Unsure about this DLC.) but has a limit of level 59 on items whereas 61 or what it was that the highest was can be found raiding the armory (Using glitch to prevent the timer from starting and being able to repeat infinitely.) but Crawmerax counters with being able to drop pearl class equipment with decent chance but it'll still take a few runs and it isn't a easy fight.
(Even when you know the weakness and target the specific areas, which is pretty easy to learn but without exploits it's hard to avoid damage due to all other spawned critters and the crab-things various attacks.)

Does raising the level cap with the game editor scale the enemies beyond 61?

I never did have any luck getting pearls from Crawmerax but I did pull 3 out of the armory...2 bessies and a rocket launcher. Go figure, I only get 3 pearls and 2 had to be repeats. At least one was higher level than the other.

They scale to your level but if I remember correctly there is a lower limit level for areas and a higher level limit (of 61 currently I think it was), playtrough 1 and 2 and maybe 2.5 (Playtrough 2 finished.) also affects this.

Unsure what level corresponds to the enemies level and when you'll get the highest level enemies, it does also affect item drops but I am uncertain on how it all scales.
(I don't think it's per each level up but pre set levels once reached.)

and more, DLCs are way easy to install as add-on to the game, not like .....ME2 just to quote it.
this game made one thing right: to have a single-player long enough as an online game.

He's a piece of piss.

Just shoot his tentacles for an easy second wind.

Rinse, repeat, job's a good 'un.

For a final boss very easy.

You can easily farm Crawmerax solo as Lilith without glitching the encounter.

Start by running towards one of the pillars so most of the mobs follow you then phasewalk to the other pillar and make sure no mobs are in your los. Wait for crawmerax to turn into a position where one of his spots is exposed then run out for a 2 second storm of bullets with a weapon like double anarchy. Once the mobs and Crawmerax get close you phasewalk to the other pillar and repeat till hes dead.

However i have no idea how to beat him solo with any other class unless you glitch the encounter (wich im not sure you can do anymore).

Some achievement issues:

http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=111774

Quote:
Borderlands DLC, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, is currently experiencing an achievement/trophy bug that applies to all platforms including XB360, PS3, and Steam.

The bug relates to the following 5 achievements
A: “What a party!”
B: “It’s so realistic”
C: “Bobble-trap”
D: “The Lubricator”
E: “Tourist”

They must be unlocked in this order. If the first of these five (5) achievements is unlocked in any other order, any achievements above that achievement on the list will not unlock normally.

Example 1:
If your first unlocked achievement is B: “It’s so realistic” (and you continue to then unlock C, D, and E) then you will be unable to unlock Achievement A: “What a party!” until the fix has been implemented.

Example 2:
If your first unlocked achievement from the list above happens to be achievement E: “Tourist” then you will be unable to unlock the rest of the achievements (A, B, C, or D) until the fix has been implemented.

We currently plan to have this bug corrected in the 1.50 Title Update. The fix will be retroactive so players can still obtain these item requirements for the achievements. Once the fix is released in the Title Update, they will be awarded with the achievements as long as they have obtained the requirements for each of these achievements beforehand. The 1.50 Title Update is currently planned for release in October. Once we have more specifics on a date, we will let the community know.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have this corrected as soon as possible.

I love it. its well balanced even for mot maximized chars like my lev. 47 hunter on playthrough 2. far better playable than the last DLC. not too easy and not too hard - just all right. very nice. the idea about revolting robots is bizarre enough and the NPCs crazy - how it should be. all in all - a great DLC in my opinion, as good as the zombie DLC Smile

I have two questions:

If i buy just the game on steam, will i be able to play the DLCs if i download them somewhere else and put them in the folder? And will there be a risk of getting banned for it?
And how many modders are there? Especially on the high levels. I mean people that ultra modded there weapons etc.

Weapon modding is still possible but only valid weapon parts for that type of weapon can be used so it's more balanced than before the 1.3 patch though level 70 with all skills characters probably make up for it somewhat.
(And drop rates and configurations for top-end weapons are pretty low chance to find normally.)

As for DLC and Steam it doesn't quite work that way so you won't have any issues about it and also if you use Steam (1.4.0 until the next update is released) with the DLC packs (Installed in order due to version differences with cracked files.) it should work just fine though will also disconnect the integration with Steam as the exe is from the retail version.

Not the best description but in short it will work just fine to play the game and DLC that way.
(Aside from the exe which is replaced with the crack for 1.4.0 and DLC4 it's identical between the retail and Steam version.)

i just started playing the claptrap dlc with my siren 2nd playthrough character. i like borderlands in general so the new dlc gives me a reason to revisit the world again even after i've beaten the game with all four characters and did all the previous dlcs. Smile

so far it's pretty fun. it's strange to go up against clap traps as enemies. i'm not that far in yet. but so far so good. ;P

edit

i just beat the main quests for claptrap dlc. it took around 4h. i plan to go back and do all the side quests later. Wink
