Yeah, your saves should all be safe (you don't need to delete them at all) as will your existing PSN titles. I'm truly hoping someone can figure out the encryption on eboot.bin, because I'm hoping we can get full patch/DLC support soon =)

I've just received my x360 usb nand device and have hacked a fresh 120gb slim, installed blackbox 1.1 and bm2. I've connected to the ps3 via ftp, where do I put my games? There is no GAMEZ folder on the internal hdd? Do i just create this folder in the root of dev_hdd0?

Dont know much about this but my understanding is you can run a lower firmware via usb? does this mean we could run a higher one without officially updating?

The eboot basically controls EVERYTHING, so it's the #1 thing stopping game updates working --- or, even better for us filthy pirates, playing non-purchased PSN titles and game addons. If/when that can be decrypted, people can find a way of installing content you're not generally authorised to. Or how about altering games so that instead of being listed as DG (disk game) they can be switched to authorise as HG (HDD game) which should, in theory, allow all games to function as HDD-installed titles .. rather than relying on the BD-Emulation of Backup Manager.
.... sadly it seems it's not working. Trying to decrypt eboot.bin files is throwing back an error. There's a shocker.

No, it does not decrypt retail EBOOT.BIN's, nor will it unpack retail PKG's.
To elaborate, when attempting to "decrypt" EBOOT.BIN from a game update, you get an invalid file input error. When attempting to unpack a retail .pkg, you get an empty dir with the serial # (title id/game id) eg the dir BCUS12345 is made, but it's empty.
This PKG Tool is essentially a mobile version of the SDK, couple apps from host\win32, so because these tools originally couldn't decrypt or unpack retail eboot.bin/pkg, there's no reason to think this tool would.

*sigh* Oh well. Back to the drawing board we go.

Not yet, though it turns out you can 0byte (or even remove, in some cases) any non-essential files. Each disk contains a 250MB update file, which you can remove, as well as additional languages or even movies. Besides; I don't think there's any padded DATA for PS3 games, or if there is it's ripped during the Backup Manager process. You can generally tell by the size of PS3 games being small enough to fit on DVD5s and DVD9s.

Sorry, it was actually FIVE days ago ... the 22nd. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and today. Still nothing. Norwegian mail is FAST, it's never taken 4 working days to deliver a package.

Isn't it possible to just delete unneeded files in every game? Why replace them with 0 byte files? Seems like unnecessary work to me.

Some games error out and crash if they can't find the file itself, whether it's a 0byte one or not, they still need the file name.

Nah, sorry. I'm just lurking on PSX-scene and following everything I can. It was the same thing with PSP games too, you could 0byte files but some games crash if they can't find the file itself.

Where did you order your Minimus? I found some shops in the UK that will also ship to Gernany, but maybe someone knows a place to get them here?
My PS3 ist still at OS 3.41, so I should be fine with that?
Also about the size: That minimus chip has 16KB or something. Now I read something about future hacks being larger. Will they also fit on the chip (from what we know now obviously), or will we need a new chip then? Because then I might just get a larger one now if I can...

I ordered from modtraders.co.uk
If you want 32kb you must get a PS3Key.
