The official website has links to preorder the game at Amazon & Gamestop. Gamestop has a (unconfirmed) release date: February 1st 2011.

"Placeholder dates from retailers aren't official."
Still, it should be close to that.

feb 2011 rolls around
gearbox rep, meekly sitting on a chair infront of the press, sheepishly looking at the floor while he fidgets with his hands...
"yeah... yeah... we lied.. look game isnt quite done yet... some... things came up, and... well... time makes fools of us all, eh? *nervous laugh* i mean really, who saw this coming... but soon... its coming soon, honest!..."

Next step in game evolutiion is making a game that plays itself, just sit in front of your monitor and do nothing. A hack and slash without having to click, f... yeah
People that cannot remember what number is what gun, like theres ten of them, I have no braincells left, should stick with consoles anyway or quit playing altogether.

So let me get this straight: they think we're so stupid, they needed to dumb down a DUKE NUKEM game for us?
Duke Nukem is probably one of the last games I would think to be "too complex" for the average gamer.
Bioshock had plenty of inventory slots if you include both guns and plasmids, and that game was a huge hit. It got better reviews and acclaim than a 13-year delayed Duke Nukem game could ever hope for. Lots of games have more than 2 weapon slots available and I don't hear people whining about it.

It's just a cover up for the reduced content of the game. In order to finish the project, a lot of features needed to be cut - features that Broussard promised a few years ago were a must and made Duke what it is. How do you defend yourself against the complaining fans? Tell them that someone else is to blame. Claim that more weapons, larger levels and better AI were already finished but got cut in the last minute to make the game console compatible. As soon as you use the word "console" all PC gamers will unite in a flame war against consoles and will forget that it was you, the developer, who fucked up.

I like to use my mouse wheel for selecting weapons, it's never been an issue and consoles use either a button or a quick menu
The only real argument they could use for limiting the guns carried is realism but this is Duke Nukem not Arma
I thought that every generation was more intelligent than the last, so where does all this dumbing down bullshit come from?

So it will come out together with Black Mesa, in a package.

Heh, yeah.... it may look absolutely gorgeous, but as the guy himself said;

If it gets the "Go" from Scott Miller, i would need a team. I my self am very productive, but a full game - even with help from a lot of people - would take years. If it gets the "Go!" my plan is to release a 1 map Multiplayer release with a couple of weapons to play with, to spark interest in the project

Just like Black Mesa; if he ever did get the permission to go ahead.. we still wouldn't see it for a great many years.

They wont let this one slip into 2012, they cant afford it, not after the demo showing and saying its finished (only getting polished) and will release in 2011.

This. Also setting a 2011 release date, I believe is how they gained 2K's trust to let Gearbox finish the development. There's no way Gearbox willl tell them "yeah, you know, the game's not ready".
