Gintama is an anime series that makes fun of the Japanese 'otaka' lifestyle. Currently there are 201 episodes and the series has been put on hold to allow the manga to get ahead. Some of the episodes deal with fan clubs for celebs or other anime series or the Jump magazine. This is most certainly not everyone's cup of tea. The humour is quite often predictable or naughty or childish but I still find myself lmao often. The elements in the series range from SF to the Edo period.

An example, episode 136: It’s Your House, You Build It
This episode is a big spoof of the series 'Death Note' and can be watched -> here <-
That is a legal stream btw, not a link to warez.
If you like it you should start with episode 1 to get to know the regular anime cast.

There aren't that many episodes in which it has a prominent role.

@iconized
You wouldn't know of any good anime or manga to watch/read. Went through Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tale and Cowboy Bebop.
Tried Gintama, but couldn't get into it. Anyway, I like the abovementioned anime so if you can think of anything else along those lines, I'd appreciate it.

I still follow Naruto and One Piece myself and recently dropped Bleach but an anime like Cowboy Bebop really stood out, was also targeted for a more mature audience I think.
Some ideas:
- Black Lagoon, both series and the OVA
- Death Note
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Ghost in the Shell, both series and the movies
- Gungrave
- Monster
- Samurai 7
- Samurai Champloo

Thanks mate, gonna download Samurai Champloo first, since it was made by the same guy who created Cowboy Bebop. Very Happy
Cheers.

Was specifically targeted for westerners. Funny how well that worked imo.

Id recommend Code Geass, Vinland Saga(manga), Gantz(manga), Berserk (both anime and manga are very good, but anime only covers a small fraction of the story), Beelzebub (nonsensical fighting anime with good humor) + all that iconized recommended
