10.8b, fixes 4870 and 4850 X2 cards only using one GPU but it seems to be a bit hit and miss from various comments, also fixed Hawx 2 AF filtering performance.

Cats for 6800-series has been released. Someone made a modded inf but I personally think it's pointless. I'll wait for the 10.10's instead. Unless someone gives me a 6870/6970. Very Happy

Those are a full 10.10 beta actually though made to only work with the ATI 6000 series (Apparently meant for benchmarks and testing so should be fairly good though probably a bit rough as they're beta and it's a new card series.) which is as you said, 10.10 is primarily to support the new ATI 6000 series though from what I've read but that doesn't mean much really, might still contain many other fixes and improvements.
(10.9 added some support for the new cards already as well.)

Still have some Crossfire related issues apparently but seems to fix various stuff, don't use them myself though as I'm also waiting for the full WHQL release next week or when it was planned. Smile

Hotfix is out as well: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU84AMDCatalyst1010aHotfix.aspx

Even better, MLAA hack for at least Cypress: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=331108
Not sure how well it works, some people don't get it to work, others do - works with GTA4 apparently!

How so?

Drivers work great here and 10.10a is more than just the MLAA mode AA which can not work on ATI 4000 series due to hardware limitations, or in particular it does not work under Direct Compute 5 / DX11 but instead the limited Direct Compute 4.0 / 4.1 for DX10 and DX10.1 which limits programs and functionality such as ATI Stream (Which is why it's listed as beta functionality for ATI 4000 series GPU's) and this new AA mode. Smile

Crossfire could be better but is picking up and should benefit all current hardware (2900 or so up to - 6000 series.) and any other compatibility fixes and CCC or core driver improvements are beneficial as well.

EDIT: MLAA is also somewhat limited at the moment, works only under DX9 though so far that's just what people with ATI 5000 series are saying so I'm unsure how it would work for those who bought the 6800 series of cards.
(I'm waiting for what NVIDIA will do with the 485 or what they'll call it and ATI's full 6980, not the dual-GPU variety, before deciding how to upgrade.)

Speaking about my personal experience (4870 1GB) I can safely say that any official driver after the 10.5a introduced noticeable random framerate drops in several games such as BC2 (the most affected one), Dragon Age and Fallout 3, not to mention the issues that are plaguing many of the 4870x2 owners:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=329150

I haven't tried the 10.10a yet, but I will do later Smile .

Interesting, and true that the many different hardware configurations and other software will produce certain results, this could be a larger problem though as I've seen in mentioned before even though it doesn't affect me in any of those games.

Though as you did say with this driver release focus will be shifting to the ATI 6000 series slowly even though older cards will be supported but probably isn't the main focus.

dont be silly, its not always like that, but if a new card is imminent or just arrives its going to take some focus right? its got to, plenty folks out there unlike us sabin that "can" change the card every 2 weeks Very Happy unfortunate that its that way but it is...

What exactly have NVIDIA done for G92/G80 cards lately? Last year with my 9800 GTX I still had to roll back a driver because it kept crashing nonstop, NVIDIA doesn't care about old cards either. Nothing new, and it'll always be like that Smile

lol i guess, fortunate the games played to date would always play well on my 4870, best you can do is just update to the latest build as they appear, ive not done 10.10 yet still on 10.9 and dont have any trouble so leave it till i do.
