Like the title says, let the battle of nerds begin! Show off your best overclock on your CPU. If there is many results, i could do some chart for Intel/Amd users Smile

Take screenshot of your CPU-Z main window + memory tab atleast.

Here´s mine, which is pretty nice for a 1055T, most chips needs like 1.5v on this kind of OC.

1055T @ 4.1Ghz / 1.416v

 Spoiler:

Temps are about 40-45c on CPU heavy games like BBC2 after hours of playing. Prime/Linx stresses CPU to max of 57c. Using Noctua NH-D14 cooler.

Couldn't be arsed to take a new screenshot - but this is with my old fans for the H50 rad and super hot apartment during the summer. It's a bit cooler in here now, so the temps have dropped Smile

Not going to push the clocks until I've replaced all fans with Noctua 120mm's, the Fractal Design fans don't push half as much air as necessary to keep my Noctua NH-U12 SE2 fan cool enough to increase voltage and frequency.

I could go a lot higher on my E7200, but I'm not going to. Right now I idle at 41-42c with my Noctua NH-U12P and it full loads around 52ish ... that's fine for me.

Sabin, im at 377 right now and idle at 35c with just a big typhoon cooler.. you got bad circulation or something there? I also wouldnt trust coretemp for correct cpu temp readings.. its pretty much bogus by alot of C variation..

normaly shows alot higher than it really is.

I use RealTemp .. and no, not bad circulation; bad cooler. The Noctua NH-U12P is a piece of shit .. it's already been RMAed twice and it's still fucking crap. The entire cooler, even the baseplate, is ice cold to the touch.. it's just not transferring heat away from the CPU/IHS.

AND NO! I AM NOT FUCKING LAPPING IT. PERIOD.

*ahem* Sorry, just a pre-emptive statement there because I'm sick of hearing people say "lap it then!" I paid £65 for this cooler, I shouldn't have to sodding lap it. The engineers should have constructed the POS better. No biggie, I'm getting a Corsair H50 or a H70 once I get my i5.

@Breezer_ It's actually 3.6Ghz mate, just a fluctuation =)

That first revision of NH-U12P is pretty crap indeed. But the NH-U12P SE 2 is very nice.

I was so gutted when I got this because it was so highly rated by practically EVERY review I could find ... then I stuck it in, saw the ridiculous temperatures (2-4c lower than the STOCK cooler that came with my E7200) and just thought "Oh. Joy" Contacted Noctua and they said that something was definitely wrong since the cooler wasn't conducting heat from the chip, RMAed it, the new one turned up and it was the same thing. Did the RMA again, second cooler turns up; same thing.

Just thought "Fuck it!" after that. Lesson learned.

Usually in noctua products, the finishing is very good on baseplate. Maybe you have had bad luck then ;< NH-U12P is pretty nice cooler, but what i have readed there is lots of problems on the finishing.

Yeah, this one isn't exactly buffed to a mirror shine, let me tell you. Oh well, hopefully I'll have better luck with my Corsair! In the meantime, 1Ghz OC (I've actually had it at 3.8Ghz but temps were 49-50c IDLE >_<) isn't bad.

My absolute best OC *ever* was my old Opteron 165; OCed from 1.8Ghz to 3.4Ghz .. completely 100% stable. LOVED that chip!

This 1055T is for me absolutely the best chip i have had. 2.8 Ghz to 4.1Ghz with little voltage, also none of the cores wont fall behind in 100% Load. I have got this to 4.3Ghz @ 1.5v and it was 3Dmark/Prime stable but was too hot imo. Maybe if i had watercooling then i would run 24/7 at 4.3ghz.

Damn... *laughs* Back then a 25Mhz OC was considered AWESOME (25%, basically, considering the DX4 had a stock clock of 100Mhz) I remember being crazy happy about pushing my P1-200 to 233Mhz, fast enough to run SoF/UT99/FFVII/Sims Very Happy

These days we're OCing in gigahertz increments Laughing

well i'm running it on 3.6 with 1.25v, due to crappy tx3 cooler which performs well with this overclock, anything higher than 4 or 4.2 it goes up to 60-70 and i don't need that heat nor the performance difference i really feel, 3.6 is more than enough, hell even @stock it's pretty good and cool chip, i had like 25c @stock idling and thought something wasn't right, room temp is 21 Razz

Well, mine was perfectly useable at just under 1.3v, but it wasn't stable in IntelBurnTest when I ran prolonged tests. So with 1.312v it's perfectly stable.

Have you tried BurnTest, Frant? Smile

Yes, and at high stress it's not stable during the second or third repeat. But I don't want to increase voltage until I've replaced the low-performance low-noise Fractal fans, the temps tend to reach 74-75C when the error happens. No problems when gaming/normal use though. Been thinking about dropping frequency until I've got new fans just to feel better about stability. But 4Ghz is nice. Wink

EDIT: noticed the vdroop on my crappy cheap M/B is ridiculous. From 1.288 to 1.240 when 100% which explains some issues. Meh, I'll have to buy a new board.. and rebuild the damn computer AGAIN!

A tip for all of you who want to obscure wallpapers and what not: use alt+PrtScr instead of just PrtScr. That captures just your currently active window Razz
