That's the Steam achievments I was reffering to in a previous post. Jimmy's Vendetta is yet to be released DLC.

Ok, but since the Achievement is already there for the standard Mafia 2 edition, I will assume that it will be a free Dlc. If not, it will be in pretty poor taste by 2K (Just my opinion).

If it isnt free some really cool guy wil torch Czech 2Ks office i guess.

Considering 2ks entire: Modding the game = Stealing. They wil probably charge for the DLC.

IndustryGamers quotes quote worthy industry analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities, who reflects on the sales of Mafia II, saying he does not believe the open-world crime sequel will ultimately turn a profit. He says: "Mafia II’s average Metacritic score of 74 is well below expectations, and consumer interest appears to be waning, as the game’s position has dropped in many best-seller lists in its first week. With six years in development, we believe the game is unlikely to achieve profitability."

There's 6 years down the toilet.. Imagine, wasting 6 years, as technology gets better and better, and there they are sitting on this tech that no one gives a fuck about, then after release, it makes no Profit whatsoever.... And they pissed away their millions and millions, for a game no one gave a shit about. And was RIPPED to hell and back on the COSOLE.

On the subject of piracy, anyone besides me find it UNFUCKINBELIEVEABLE that EVERY game that comes out is leaked weeks and weeks early on the XBOX360, and NO ONE says Dick about it? God, but oh if you play HALO Reach 1st, leaked you'll be banned by MicroCock, but if you pirate and play anything else on crapbox, they don't give a shit about.... Tired of the fucking bullshit lies, you faggots (microsoft). It makes me sick, they blame PC for the industry dying, yet it's the fucking CONSOLE that the is the casue, and nothing is said about it. And the fucking shitty games they make, the bullshit prices they charge, the 60$ a year now for xcrap live. It's appalling, they "industry" are the ones that killed it... Fucking ignorant assholes/.

6 fucking year to make, lol WTF, talk about milking the cock, what the fuck is it, GT5? And that's some bullshit too, but for another forum thread

/end rant

Its really ridiculous how important Metacritic has become.
Not only for consumers but also for the publishers!
And everything below 75 (or 80) is now considered crap and fail.

Driving was boring and far to big part of this game, otherwise a nice game with good story but those continuing endings is always a pain in the ass.

I think there was only one mission where i encountered roadblocks, The Buzzsaw. Not once in the game after that.

Worry? Who's worrying!? Cool

I think the only ones who should worry should be the devs. It has become pretty clear that they sold a product that's been cut to tiny pieces from which they only sold ONE, naming it "the game".

I highly doubt buyers everywhere are highly "thrilled" about this. IMO, Bethesda's horse armor DLC and the likes are nothing compared with 2K's "smart move" to divide the game in tens of puzzle pieces that one should assemble in how long... months... years... ?!

DLC whoring at it's finest!

It's quite clear that the original plan put Derek, guiseppe and that dude you bring cars too as important Side mission characters, a SHITLOAD of content was cut off and I suppose they thought 10hours was reasonable to give out in the game and then sell the rest as DLC, anyone who pays for this DLC evil conspiracy is a moron

God i miss the days with expansion packs.

Full games released. Extra content that was about 1/3 at least of the original.
Gotta hand it to the console kiddies for the DLC thing. Cash from suckers..

Damn right, but that's the general problem with DLC: it's bits of content, rather than expansions. I doubt we'll ever get back to those days. Even Blizzard, the company with three of the greatest expansion packs ever (LoD for D2, BW for SC and TFT for WC3) has fallen. I really can't remember how long each race's campaign was in SC, but I'm pretty damn sure it was longer than the 20-odd missions in Wings of Liberty Sad

Hell, even the second GTA: London pack was bigger than the DLC we get nowadays (in terms of content, not in terms of size Razz). LoD, BW and TFT all pretty much added the original game all over again; bit less in the case of LoD, but getting 2 new classes kinda made up for that. And all of the games mentioned at least had complete storylines, without cut content >_<

Hard to compare rts's and rpg's longevity with a 3rd person story-driven shooter.

Also, I don't think the 1st starcraft was bigger than Starcraft 2. Sure you had separate campaign's for the 3 races, but they were like 10 missions each (if i remember correctly).

But i agree with you on the dlc subject. Rich/stupid dlc buying retards are destroying it for the rest of us.

HL1 with Opposing Force and Blue Shift? Just another example. Don't think I'd rate Epi 1/2 of HL2 as expansions because they don't require HL2 to be installed, but they do build on the story in HL2.

Same goes for TLAD and TBOGT for GTA4; may not require the original game to be installed, but they show other sides of the same story (which, in all fairness, is just as good or bad as that of Mafia 2), and TBOGT is pretty damn amazing.

Obviously no other ones come to mind now, but I'm sure there's more Smile
