Cops are lazy? They are outright DUMB. I once came to a crossroads in my car and there was a cop car just driving in circles on the crossroads until it hit a car. Then he hit on the sirens, came out the car and arrested the car driver he drove into...

Jesus.. it's like the game is inferior to the original in every way, this is an example of a bad sequel. And AC2 is an example of a good sequel

They said the game had 4 endings but they ditched the idea so maybe the ones at the bottom of the list are the three that they didn't want to include so the text is just a leftover which means nothing...or maybe it really means that we will see them in the form of DLCs.
Epilogue - High Time - October 18th, 1953
Epilogue - A Family Business - January 18th, 1954
Epilogue - Friends for Life - July 22nd, 1955
---------------------------
The End - The end...like...the last cutscene after you finish the last chapter or whatever they count as the ending that we have now?
That's what I think anyway...

What happened to side missions, Luca Bertonni?
Maybe they should have made a sandbox world instead (never thought I'd say that) like the movie said they should have went "full retard" since they streamlined the game anyway.

How crappy could those other 3 have possibly been if the ending of the game was the best one.
Seeing the diffrent dates behind those 3 epilogues i somehow doubt that those are 3 alternate endings.
Specialy the last one ''Epilogue - Friends for Life - July 22nd, 1955''
Makes me think this is DLC.

Yeah I really do believe 2K made em cut out half the game on purpose to make DLC out of it. Nothing to do with it being bad or anything.

That's really my big gripe with this game, the lack of content they decided to cut out for DLC. The achievements in Steam even include some for DLC that isn't even available yet?
I did enjoy what was there, but I can't help but get the feeling they got greedy and/or lazy on certain things.

Now that I've finished it I'll give my short view on Mafia 2.
1. Empire City is amazing, built like a vivid and realistic city. It's absolutely gorgeous, esp. during the winter.
2. The game was waaaaay too short. Basically 15 missions.
3. There's no reason to play freeride since there's nothing to do except rob stores, shoot cops and drive around.
4. I liked the handling of the cars. Cars from the 40'ies and 50'ies didn't handle like they had traction control, ABS, advanced rollbar technology etc., they handled like bathtubs on wheels.
5. I can't help feel slightly cheated by the whole DLC deal. It's clear the game feels so short is because there's going to be a lot of DLC's coming up that ought to have been in the game from start. I blame 2K for the decision.
6. If they built this big beautiful and characteristic city (best city design in any game ever imo), why not make it part of the game except for being the setting? They could've added tons more stores, houses, quests, missions, perpetual gang warfare etc.
All in all, I give Mafia II: 8.5/10
They squandered some of the possibilities they created by building such a rich and wonderful city without actually doing anything with it.

There was an article I posted some weeks ago about the 3 cut endings, so probably these are only the "traces" of their decision of putting only one definitive final scene. Or at least it's what I hope.
In any case, I won't redownload the game again, so I'll probably end up watching the hypotetical alternative DLC endings on Youtube.
