Consoles are the future of gaming because console games sell more than PC games. Simple as that... ofc some exceptions like SC2 and WOW. But overall console games sell more.

Tried to look up some figures but couldn't find some that are also recent enough.
Anyway there are a lot more titles available for consoles compared to PC games, it is not a good comparison.
Something that gets overlooked, online gaming is growing rapidly and that is mainly PC platform.

Yup, unlike consoles, I'd say at least 95% of all PC's are connected to the internet and thus are ready for online play, whereas it's only like 70% with the PS3 and about 50-60% with the 360 (and Wii even less).

Its impossible to estimate sales figures for PC games because Steam, the largest online distributor of games, refuses to disclose its earnings... at least that's what I remember from a year ago when I researched the subject.

Jap companies like Capcom, Square, etc started porting everything to PC which was uncommon up until recently. Even the new MGS is supposedly being "seriously considered" for a PC version. No rise in PC exclusives yet, but it's something.
Asus, B550, 3700X, 3060, 32GB.

PC gaming will never die. As long as there's money to be made it'll survive. Thing is, people compare the console market with the PC market as if only one can exist. Compare that with the online news and paper news markets. In the late 90'ies it was said that the newspaper as a product would disappear within 10 years. That didn't happen. The newspaper market adapted and streamlined, having a place in the economic system.

best games of all times are in the pc, even at this days. maybe it's not the time of the "boom", but still... i like better a pc game than a console game.

of course pc is better to pc boys
but snes, genesis, n64, dreamcast, psx had way better games than pc's even back in the day.
there are some brilliant pc games as there are some brilliant console games.
saying otherwise just makes you a serious tard.

But as waldo said above, people now days, especially here in the states where were in a recession, don't have the money to be building computers or paying even more for a gaming one, not only that but the obvious patience needed for bugs, patches, hardware issues etc, console gamers want to play right away.
Gaming on PC's also has no advertisement, all you see on tv and online is consoles consoles consoles, im pretty sure if these PC only games did massive marketing on tv people would be more interested in pursuing the hobby.
It's also not the fault of the gamers that the games are so god damn retarded, it's due to the hardware, and the lazy developers, thus spoiling people to the point where they act retarded. Though they do suck at gaming (from what I saw) I was watching my friend play modern warfare 2 on ps3, jesus christ you could just tell how bad they couldn't aim or even have quick responses. They see you and have to ponder if they're going to shoot you
