It would be nice when you open for instance the Epic thread you automaticly being brought to the part what you havent seen before. That would stop me from reading the topics backwards and it reduces the double reads Smile

It's a very old codebase, so even if there are hacks for phpBB 2 to make this, it will have to be manually edited to be compatible with this old source. Wink

No, not useless, Rinze has introduced new features (like in-thread searching) and fixed a lot of things. You never know. Wink

I LIKE that! It's clean, straightforward, fast and proven to work. And with this cool blue and Tahoma font it's the best looking forum ever.

but still.. some JS goodness, video embedding, etc wouldn't hurt.

With this button you go to the first new post that has been made since the last time you visited the forum. Is that what you meant? Or do you mean that the button should know what posts you have seen in the current session? Or should it be like vBulletin where it remembers for each thread what posts you have seen and what not regardless of sessions?

edit: forgot to put the image

I think it should just get to the (top of the) last page that existed the last time the user was in that thread.

Because many times I go to the last page and then have to go backwards to find where I last left it.

I think he meant independent of sessions. The board only tracks your current visit, after that it resets everything.
But I like it that way. I hate it when I visit boards and threads show up as new, although they might be some weeks old, only because I didn't read them yet...

As Rinze said, the feature already exists.

You know, because I already requested it over 4 years ago and Rinze implemented it shortly after Wink
