How about having some events from time to time where people can bet on various things with their post count? 
For example game release dates and so on.
(I for one don't care for the post count itself but it is the only "currency" we have on this board  )

The logistics would be ridiculous, considering only someone with database administration could actually change these values, unless you made a quick little php script to adjust the post count. I could make it but this PHPBB seems to be pretty heavilly chopped so hard to say what the DB Schema is.
Could be fun though, leak date bets, could play full tilt poker tables, 1-2k max buyin no rebuys.
