Yeah. I really wish they would just say, "Hey all preorders will get it on the 20th via Digital Download. Retail will be 24th".

Would be insta preorder from me.

Watched the dev walkthrough of it and I gotta say I would love to get my hands on a demo of this. It looks pretty nice and might even be a buy for me.

Yea, I'm curious of this as well. I've been gaming over 30 years and love old school type of games, especially turn-based strategy. From what I've seen, however, it's not getting me excited, so what am I missing?

The launch trailer ( http://www.elementalgame.com/launchtrailer ) shows a bit of combat.. it's hard to tell from screens or videos if these sorts of games are any good.

Wasn't it turned based, not easy to find good images of it if so though videos would be better but I've only seen earlier beta footage and not much of it.

You can do +1 all you want it won't help. For obvious retail reasons pertaining to the release date with chains like gamestop, stardock have to keep the release date in line with the retail release, so they cannot officially say anything, only hint at it.
Stardock and specifically frogboy/draginol/Brad Wardell likes to reward his customers and not potential customers, it's always been like this.
Thats also why preorders and beta testers will get the game before retail and there won't be a word about it officially aside from the strong hints.
But it's still a free internet and you can do what you want.

Well, I'm gonna wait for 24th anyway to play it as it's when the first, supposedly big, patch arrives adding/improving some things. I wonder also if we'll get the scene release on Firday. As there is no copy protection whatsoever all of you who will not buy it might actually have a nice weekend with Elemntal Smile

It's normal under certain conditions, yes. I was linking to it again so people who missed it didnt have to scroll/search for it, i'm pretty sure they'd remember if they had seen it or not, there's just one launch trailer Rolling Eyes + the link was hardly the only thing in my post, if it had been then your reply had been more understandable.

Kinda figured it had something to do with that.
So they can release the game early to preorders and beta testers as long as they aren't specific about it before hand? I find that rather odd. Seems to me the retailers would be just as miffed regardless. Strange how things work some times. I can certainly see the conflict with retailers. I just don't get how doing it anyway and not being specific about it makes a difference unless it is a loophole in a legal issue.

Well, at least now we know. I guess there wasn't a problem with announcing it after all. So much for the Friday release.

"We’re going to be making the game available early to everyone who beta tested Elemental (planned day is either Sunday night or Monday morning) and anyone who pre-orders prior to Monday morning will get the game on Monday rather than having to wait until Tuesday."

Oh well. i might as well order from Amazon then.

This is one of those games I'd really like a demo of. Because if I still liked it as much after playing I would consider pre-ordering it.
But I can't go around pre-order everything that "looks nice in a video" these days :/

Anyways. What happened to devs actually releasing demos?
Demos that showed you some of the game and not some small tidbit which gives you no clue about the full game at all? Not happening anymore these days.
It's as if they want us to pirate the game O.o
