hey guys, I know some of you here know me a lil, I've been around for a long time, I just don't post that much. Tonight, I was robbed at gunpoint, guy put the gun to my head, and said give me your money motherfucker. A friend of his came out from the shadows, put his gun to my head also. I thought I was gonna be shot and killed.
I gave them my money, 250us, the amount doesn't matter I suppose. It's what I had on me. I went to hand him the money, he said throw it on the ground. I threw it on the ground, They said now get the fuck outta here, motherfucker. And shot at me, grazing my face and as I fell, they shot 5 more shots at me, laughing. I have a wife and a 2 year old, I'm 40 years old now, and nothing like this has happened before to me.
The gun to head, I was calm, more calm than I've ever been. I've taken karate in my youth, and my sensi and his wife were held up at gunpoint, and way back when I was 16, he said "Mike, there is no fighting someone with a gun to your head" I had two pointed at me. I could do nothing, and didn't struggle, move funny, nothing, I calmly did what they said and they still shot me... It's the weirdest fucking thing, I tell you. I live in the US, just moved to the South, to be close to the beach. One month and 5 days later this happens. I've been through a lot in my life. And today was almost the end of it all...
Cops can't do anything, it's attempted murder, and somehow I walked away tonight, now some 4 hours later. When I close my eyes I see the whole thing repeat. I see the gun to my eye, I see it fire.. I flinch. I thought I was killed...
Some parts here in the South are very poor, I mean living outside poor. We live on an Island, seperated mostly from that element. THere's the white areas and the black areas, I was just downtown, the place is called Charleston South Carolina. It's beautiful at the beach, we came here for our daughter to have a good life at the Ocean. She almost lost her dad tonight.
I still haven't quite processed it yet. I'm in shock they say, I can't think, and all I see is the guns firing... No reasoning, other than I'm white, 2nd generation Italian. I'm peaceful by nature, and the random act of violence,,,, I don't know what to say,,, I don't have many friends anymore outside of my wife, the times have changed since we were young.
I knew this forum had the bitching session here, and I just wanted to get this out, instead of keeping it in, bottling it up. I like to get my thoughts and feelings out, but where does one go to tell people they were shot at? Amost killed?
Other than the trauma of the event, I am ok. My wife and child get to spend some more time with me and I with them. I don't know when I'll sleep again. Like I say, when I even blink, I see the gunfire.
To those of us with familes, gather them close and tell them you love them, kiss on their heads. I never thought this nite might be my last here on Earth. It's quite sobering. I'm sorry for the wall of text guys, I just wanted to share my experience and within each divsion I hope the loss I feel for humanity lessens. I even kinda get it, like I understand why... THey have Nothing, they see someone enjoying life, and they want to steal it. Kill it. I'm glad I am still here for my wife and kid. This has changed my life from this point on.... Dunno what to say really, other than you seem to have been damn lucky.
Its not something I would ever want to experience (or to wish on anybody)
Its stupid that people would do this kinda thing for so little.

Thank you man, the past hour or more, I can't stop crying. I'm falling apart at the seems. I feel like I am unraveling. My wife and the police say it's a miracle. Is it really? Real damn lucky I wasn't killed is all I feel, yet a part of me feels like it was killed tonight. My belief in humans

That is a horrible story mate, good thing you got away.
Reading your reaction to it, I would suggest to seek some victim counselling.

Your state of shock will fade and the good thing is you'll be stronger after it if you adapt right
it's a great thing you reacted the way you did, most would just start crying at gunpoint and begging which would have encouraged to criminals to do worse things using their weakness
but that part you're living in shows a great deal of hatred towards whites by some black people, and you really should pick the streets you use carefully, it's THEIR territory, since you recently moved in I guess you're not familiar with things too much, I suggest you lead a proper study on society there which will enable you to greatly lessen the chances of this ever happening again, if you've seen their faces, try to give the cops a sketch, but if the cops are white and the criminals are black chances are they'll look the same as any other black person to them, unless they focus on the area the crime has happened in.
Hold up together and don't let this render you weaker, it should render you stronger and more experienced should you adapt right to it as I said.

Best you move out of that shithole. If someone can walk up to you and shoot at you with a gun AND get away with it, imagine what they might do to your daughter one day when she's walking home from school. Why risk your family by staying in an area like that? Good luck, no matter what you do.

This... this is 2010 - and we still have poeple, in progressive industrialized countries, that run around on the streets THREATENING and SHOOTING people while LAUGHING about it!
Then what happens? You get to experience one horrible situation, and get mentally scarred for the rest of your life. And they, well they get to spend the money that YOU actually WORKED for and earned! While they have probably never done a single legitimate thing in their lives.
You have no idea how much i absolutely HATE parasites like that - I wish cancer and slow deaths upon their families and the poeple they love. It's a fucking insult that they get the same rights as us civilized people. Fuck, it's even an insult that they even get to breathe the same ir. Fuck them.

Sounds like they didn't intend on killing you. I'm pretty sure someone who has never handled a gun before could hit someone easily at just a few feet away.
Why won't the cops do anything? They could go out and ask questions in that area. What type of guns did they have, were the bullet casings ejected from the guns? have they had a forensic team down there? I would want something done about it.

Ahh I wish I could say something meaningful or helpful but there really isn't anything to say. I'm glad you're alive. Yeah this changes your outlooks on life but I suspect it's a strangely valuable experience and as sooner you sort this out in your head the sooner you'll be living more intensely than ever.

Well immigrants in general that are a minority are still over-represented in crimes.So ofcs ppl dont feel safe around em. They don't exactly have a good reputation u know..
