Savegames are tied to the profile, you gotta backup the profile as well / C:\Users\X\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive
Edit: without this, they wont work, even if you create a new profile with the same name Razz
Edit2: seems like that was the latest patch, thank JB Smile

So that's where the profile files are at. I figured there had to be more.
Since I have an active profile at the moment, I think I should be fine as iNatan said. Still I'll back it up for future use just in case Smile

Thanks again for the replies.

Once you finish the kids game (SC2 Cool Face) and start this, you will see what an epic SP campaign is. Wink

Does the JB's patch already contains the cracked .exe?

Here you go:

This contains all files needed for Revloader. Smile

Extract in folder, and run Loader.exe.

I, for one, kinda liked the SC2 campaign more. Maybe just because of the presentation: it feels more fleshed out, the characters have more presence. DoW2 seemed more like a hardcore war(hammer) story, with badass space marines purging the unclean, burning heretics and so forth Smile

Of course, I haven't finished either campaign yet Smile

Gameplay is completely another matter though. I always liked the CoH/DoW style much more than the 500 clicks per minute micromanagement of Starcraft.

Yeah, they did make it more personal in CR. And you can choose to either corrupt your units with Chaos or not, corrupting them means some really special weapons and power ups but endings change and even the one before last boss fight changes. And story is a lot more tighter, the characters speak during mission briefings (as oppose to just listen to the one requesting help) and on some missions the characters even give you an ultimatum to take them or they get corrupt.

The only thing I dislike about DoW2 is that the missions are so god damn repetitive. After 6 or so missions you've done them all.

So I've done about three missions.
Is there any sort of base building in this one? O.o

Nope, it's more of a tactical arpg.

Great. So I should just stop playing right now because I freaking suck at this game (after 3 missions that is).
Well, off to read a guide/faq then.

There's nothing that tricky in the gameplay. Especially considering that they give out new squads gradually over missions. It gives you an opportunity to get a sense of their abilities.

Positioning plays a much more important role in this game unlike your typical RTS games. The main thing to remember is using cover and special abilities:
A single grenade can take out a whole assault force. And the hero unit can take on whole squads if played right, especially with his medpacks to keep everyone alive.
Using cover is essential. You set up your defensive or offensive position and fight from there. Once the opposition is dealt with you move on. If you have more squads there's room to maneuver: you can use them to flank the enemy squads or throw grenade while they are suppressed.

Also squads usually excel either at ranged or at melee combat, so you have to position them accordingly depending on what unit you are fighting. If your machine gunners get stuck in melee, you absolutely need to help them out.

Well that's what works for me at least Smile

what a fucking pain it is to get this game working. Want to try out the SP campaign, but i get errors here and fucking errors there. And i have no clue how to update the game 0.o chaos rising folder or regular warhammer folder? I hate it when expansions needs their own folder.

Chaos Rising is standalone and includes everything that's in the regular.

There's no need to keep regular DoW 2 installed.

OK, thanks. But still that patch bugs me the fuck out. Tried copy pasting the patch JB uploaded and just got errors.

Edit: Got it working.

I can confirm that:

DoW II Chaos Rising (Razor1911) + JB's updated files + Leo's Revloader = Awesomeness Very Happy

edit: remember to apply the Razor's original crack before copying the updated files, otherwise some important .dlls will be missing Wink

Yeah installed it earlier today with no issues. Got my saves as well.
Thanks to everyone for their file contributions Smile

Now I have question about wargear. What happens if I collect more gear than there are available free slots in the load out screen? I always wondered, but there doesn't seem to be an answer anywhere Smile

I know Cool Face , but first I have to play the game for the first time! Laughing

(I've never tried any of the Warhammer titles before *I'm feeling your despise towards me Laughing* but yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of RTS Wink )

Yeah, it was easy. I was just confused because of the original and made a little mess. When i installed only the expansion it went pretty smooth.

Send your demons Leo! Laughing Crying or Very sad

I'm actually completely absorbed into my second walkthrough of The Witcher: EE.
Yesterday for example I played for something like 5 consecutive hours, having absolutely no concept of time and ending to dream about Drowners, Bloedzuigers and Golems during the night

I wish they'd add some stuff to The Last Stand. That was my favorite part of the game. It's really a fun game mode. I've played a few times, but haven't played nearly as much since SC2 came out. At least DoW2 is different enough of a game that it stands on its own and is much different than SC2. I personally am glad they designed DoW2 the way they did.
