I know lots of people think Toyotas are boring bland looking cars, but well at least this is the 2L 128hk sol edition. So a big upgrade from my old Galant.
Also nice to have a car with A/C for once.

huh? Everything is standard. Last owner serviced it at toyota as often as recommended. And the reason I bought it is reliability. Its just passed the EU checkup thing with 0 errors.

If it wasn't so expensive to own a car in Norway I would probably have a BMW 520 to play with^^

@myfavitalian
Yeah, been driving Yaris verso a lot in my last job. Very fuel efficient, but the gear stick is kinda chunky and not always easy to get in reverse :/

And thanks leo^^

Avensis has always been very popular in Norway and Sweden at least. The new one look like shit tho, but the 08 mod looks pretty sweet. Norways 2nd most sold car last year.

Exactly, the Yaris gearbox has an unsynchronized reverse gear which basically explains the gear whine moving in reverse and the problem with getting the gear shift into reverse. Crying or Very sad

Got it for 34k NOK. Toyota are pretty pricy in Norway. My old galant was only 10k NOK. But in the long run, I think ill save money with this car.

The Prius is good fun too with the accelerator jamming, that would make for a fun joyride. Don't know if that added bonus is included with your Avensis as well!

Not familiar with that term, but basically its 3-4 times more expensive to have it insured on yourself if you are under 24. You can get good deals on certain cars. Even tho I don't earn any bonus it wouldn't matter that much if I pay 3 times more a year. I only have to pay around 3K NOK a year in my grandmothers name. And the cops doesn't mind it, and insurance companies know people do this. And its not like its illegal to borrow a persons car.

I had my first Audi in my name, with 40% bonus, and to pay 11K NOK a year!!! And lets just say my insurance "disappeared" " So then I was like fuck it, I wont pay 13k NOK a year or what it was. But I get it... young drivers take to many risks etc.

Only 2 more years till im 24 tho, so will get my own insurance again then.

Holy shit, 1300-1400 euros on car insurance? That's quite sick Neutral

Over here there's no increased fees for young drivers, but you with most insurance companies do get a discount for driving without damage for xx years. And for the first 3 years (if that hasn't changed) young drivers are on a point system. 3 strikes means you lose the license; a strike being anything illegal which involves the police. So speeding doesn't count, dumb asses Very Happy

Toyota has absolutely no quality control whatsoever. They have been cutting corners for years. I would stay as far away as possible from any recently built Toyota. The list of recall models that come out montly is ridiculous. I hope you have good brakes!!

I strongly disagree. Toyota didn't get to where they are with "absolutely no quality control"... Sure they have quality issues at the moment (recent years), but their cars are still (very much) above average in quality.

By the way, deelix's car is boring, but you can still have fun with a boring car, at least I can lol... and it certainly is cheap to maintain, a reliable car that will last several years. Great choice IMO.

I live in Amsterdam BTW, and I'm insured with FBTO for my 1999 Ford Focus. I have to go fully comp because my girlfriend who co-owns the car can't drive worth a fuck. My insurance is 120 Euro's a month.

And don't talk to me about speeding fines..sheesh, I've had 4 in the past month.

Yep, your first sentence indicates that you're committing insurance fraud. Lets not beat around the bush mate, it's obvious. If this new car is mostly driven by your gran and you just occasionally then fair play, but if the insurance company can prove otherwise then you will most likely be screwed if you try and claim. I'm sure the rules are pretty much universal as it is a business no matter which country you live in. In the UK insurance companies know they are being screwed out of money because of fronting and a lot of the time, they don't pay out.

well, its much worse with people trying to get insane amount of cash regarding insurance fraud. What im doing is pretty much accepted by the insurance company as its hard to prove that kind of fraud, only way is to be in some kind of accident and have to write your name. And besides older people should have to pay more insurance
