Actually this game has much better cursor and interacting with items is also improved and streamlined. No need for that big ugly verb icon attatched to the arrow.
Only complaint I have, the dialog options still have the ugly white blobs in front of them. With first game I could let it slide because original version had nothing for that but the second game has skull symbols originally so why couldn't they use them.

So I just bought it and apparently (even though I didn't preorder) I still got the first part for free? O.o Seeing as I already have it, I got one to give away. Anybody wants?

SKIDROW release is crashing right after running it here; I am on Windows 7 x64 ultimate.
Code: | Faulting application name: Monkey2.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4c23dcb1
Faulting module name: Monkey2.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4c23dcb1
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00076852
Faulting process id: 0xb60
Faulting application start time: 0x01cb1e253db8b75e
Faulting application path: F:\mi2se\Monkey2.exe
Faulting module path: F:\mi2se\Monkey2.exe
Report Id: 80ce0709-8a18-11df-abf8-6cf04901afba |
EDIT: Apparently it's not crashing anymore after that, once the game has been installed, you run DXSETUP.exe in the /installers folder.

Heh, I guess they saw a cash inflow from audience they did not think would be interested, and are streamlining it. What I wonder is why not just make it skipable. The first SE had the intro song but was unskipable, so I guess people complained about that, but it's not like it's very hard to make it skipable with a button.

At least they improved the art style for guybrush in this one, in the first SE he looked a bit retarded.

@apeape
Check the official forums, people are working on modding it to have better art.

The intro of the first remake WAS skipable with the backapce key, and this one's could have been the same. What a shame.

I've got a different error:
Code: | Faulting application name: Monkey2.exe
Version: 1.0.0.0
Time stamp: 4c23dcb1
Faulting module name: steam_api.dll
Version: 7.9.87.40
Time stamp: 4b60a94b
Fault offset: 0001d010
Exception code: c0000005 |
It's not the DX problem, as I've tried the solution mentioned above.
I assume it's a steam problem, but I'm kinda new to the steam pirated games and don't know how to fix it
EDIT: Used the original steam_api.dll that was installed with the game instead of the cracked one - it works now.

Half the bugs he talks about in his review are non-existent when I'm playing... but I do agree that taking out the intro with the dancing monkeys is a horrible decision.

Rule #3 of the Good Gamer: DO NOT trust the reviews, try the game by yourself and let your mind decide whether it is worth or not
