it is surprising to say that the goal of our species has gone from evolving and improving Human life to personal profit over the lives of others, it's a predatory primitive instinct of greed and holding one's ground while in reality there is no real threat to them personally, they're just afraid of losing power and wealth and that in reality isn't a big problem
when you see that all of the alternative power researchers are getting killed because oh no they represent a giant threat to the multi trillion oil corporations, they're just simple men who devoted their lives to make everyone's life much easier and decided to listen to pure uncorrupted reason instead of their violent primitive instincts and that, ladies & gentlemen is the only way to evolution
we've been given great gifts and we're using them for jackshit, when nations lead giant expensive wars based on a lie for the profit of a few, when leaders think that the best way to keep a nation calm is by spreading lies & ignorance and using blatant force to suppress enlightment, where people's problems are big profit instead of help interest, truth is humanity has always been like this, we're a double edged sword, we have the capability to either help or destroy ourselves, but the way we're heading, it doesn't look all that green & shiny.

Why do you presume that the world needs saving? I mean, ppl always think that they are the best, so I guess that's why you posted also (proves that you're not smarter than everyone else).
The world, the Earth, needs no saving. We have been here for, what, 200000 yrs (the humans as we are today), and Earth has existed for 4.5 billion yrs now. It has been doing fine long before we were here, and if some big meteor or ourselves wipe us out, guess what: the Earth will still be here, minding it's own business.
So the answer to your question cannot be given, since it's logically incorrect (presumption that world needs saving)...
