Meh, even if I disregard the technical issues I can't enjoy this game. I thought I'd like it since it looked like an enjoyable action shooter. The GFX is subpar for the performance. The AI is stupid, makes the entire stealth element irritating. The game goes in black and white when you do stealth, so you don't see any color when you're trying to play a SC game as a SC game. The story so far (two hours in) is shit. While you can still go stealth I never get the urge to do it since this game is obviously designed as an action game. I feel like I'm playing that old Bourne game at times, which is not a good thing.
To keep the blabla short, game bad me not like.

This game is running like a turd for me. I have an E7400, 4 GB of RAM and a 9800GT, yet this game is running badly on 1280x1024 with no AA, all settings high. Is there anything I can do to improve performance?

Yes sir. Oddly, it seems to make performance even worse (maybe not though, I haven't really measured it on FRAPS).

For me it runs like crap in coop mode or the other multiplayer modes, in deniable ops and in singleplayer runs great...

As opposed to having to play completely in black and white or green as the earlier games had. I don't understand the black and white criticism for the game at all.

When i swiched starting up the game from win7x64 to xp ( dual-boot) the stuttering was gone tho the relatively bad framerates stayed the same but it didn't have infuence on the gameplay anymore and was rather smoothy.

I got a bit into it before I realized I'd gotten as far as I wanted to get. It was that damn building you can't kill your way through that got to me.
If you're going to use shitty stealth mechanics and theme park "look I can climb on pipes" bs like they used years ago, don't make stealth-type play mandatory.
Plus I was tryin to play assassin's creed II at the same time, so I felt like I'd lost both hands and gone retarded comparatively when switching to this game.
Oh and if you're going to add torture, do it right. Breaking porcelain sinks w/ a guy's head doesn't make him want to tell you his secret, it makes him braindead.

It isn't stuttering here though. It's just bad framerate (25-30, drops to 15 in Iraq and in a few other missions).

What ? SCCT has normal colours, except when you put on the goggles or other vision modes. In this game it changes depending on where the idiot is stepping.
There is no real darkness in this game.

Ah allright, it might be cpu dependant and/or bad drivers, i have an E8400 and i saw i high usage on both cores when i checked it.

So there is no way to improve the performance aside from disabling AA? Even without AA, it gets bad in the Iraq level.
The 360 runs this at what settings?

Should you be able to cover and shoot at the same time because I can't do it on the 360 wireless (using the same fix that I used for ACII), maybe because of the "pressing both triggers at once" problem, one trigger nullifies the other or something, it works in COD4 and in ACII I think but not here.

@madmax17
Patch 2 was suppose to fix incorrent recognising wireless x360 controller.
Just delete previous "fix" (which in fact is emulator) and reinstall the patch or something.

That's what I mean. You still had to play the majority of the game like that if you wanted to play effectively. Sure you could take off the "green vision" if you wanted to admire the graphics but lets be honest 90% of the game was played this way. The new method just integrates it more effectively into the playing world. That's why I don't understand the criticism of the shadow effect simply because it's not like you didn't spend 90% of the previous games in a single colour.

I never had to use the goggles for 90% of the time in CT and I went full stealth (or tried to). In this game, simply standing in the shadows means you'll play in black and white. Very poor design choice imo.

Dumbing something down =/= Making it more effective.
Also, as Mister_s, I played without the goggles alot. Not to admire the scenery, but to give a better feel of the lighting differences. In this, it's annoying as hell to tell wether you will be hidden or not in a dimly-lit area.

The black and white crap is probably to mask the shortcomings of the piss-poor engine. As VGA said, there is no real darkness - the engine is incapable of real darkness. Take a look at some guard standing in the dark - you can clearly see him, even without the black and white.

The black and white, telling that you're in the dark is absolute in this game. That is, you're either in dark or in light with no chance to be somewhere inbetween like in the previous games.
Anyways, this whole game from Ubi is a joke and I believe the devs know it as well. A lot will definitely be changed designwise in the next installment. From the past sales of the previous installments, they know very well that the Splinter Cell series is their least strongest IP losing to POP.
Being a fan of the series, the only thing I like in this game is the sonar goggles which is a ripoff from The Dark Knight.

Splinter Cell is hardly their strongest IP. Take a look at all the console derps who bought the silly "pew pew pew" "next gen" Ghost Recons. They just made a similar shit for the console derps with this IP, and it is probably selling like crazy on the consoles.

Well, to be fair, the GRAW games were pretty good shooters. This isn't a good shooter, stealth or anything game. This game is just pure shit.

Never really played the PC ones (as my computer at the time was a piece of shit), so the console ones.
Sure, nothing like the old GR games, but good shooters nonetheless.

Actually, I suggest you do try the PC versions of the games, while not as good as the originals, they are still very good, and a lot better than the console pew pew pews. Perhaps not in production values ("BLOOOM!"), but from gameplay standpoint.
