When I start the game and get to the profile part I refuses to make an profile. After I type in my name I get the following message "Sorry, You cannot create a profile beginning with ". That's how far i get. I tryed the exact same iso on my friends Xbox and it worked without any problems. I have v1.6 and im using Aladdin Advance XT chip. Running the lastest version of Evox. I get the same error with UnleashX. I'm playing the game from my HDD. And it's a PAL box.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Mine worked fine. Maybe try typing a name for the profile instead of leaving it blank.

I tried deleting all the data in both X,Y,Z and E:/Cache.
No help!
I'm running X2 chip with 4981 bios on a 1.0 box.
I've been trying to browse around for a solution with no luck.
I'm not home right now to test this but...
I've read that there is some bug with this game that doesn't allow the game to run in 480p mode with widescreen mode enabled.
Perhaps the problems are related?
I'm using the high definition pack with widescreen mode enabled.
When I get home I'll try changing from widescreen mode to normal mode and see if that works.

I was having problems with the game as well. I loaded up the MS Dashboard and checked my date and time settings which were fine however my Time Zone information was not. I set it to mine which is "Eastern" Time Zone with daylight saving on. Restarted my xbox and was then able to create a profile.
The game seems to be working now.

Ok, I have two version 1.6 xbox consoles with X3 chips running the 3029 bios, Avalaunch dashboard and 250 gig Maxtor hard drives. One runs Republic Commando and the other does not (will not let me create profile or says corrupt on one I saved to that HD).
Things I have tried so far with no luck:
- Clock is set correct and 3029 bios has time correction built in
- High Def setting had no effect (480p, 720p & 1080i on or off)
- High Def adatper or regular adapter had no effect
- Any X3 setting (I tried them all) no effect
- Any Avalaunch setting, no effect
- Hard Drive lock or unlocked had no effect
- Tried all Bios verions compatible with X3, no effect
Now this is were I really get puzzled.
- I remove the HD from the Xbox that will run RC and placed it in the one that will not - it will not run the game.
- I place the HD from the xbox that will NOT run RC in the Xbox that will and it does run the game. (so no issues seem to reside on hard drive)
- I swap the X3 chips, the DVD drives and the X3 chips - there is nothing left it could be but a motherboard issue??? The game works fine in one xbox and does not in the other. I checked the motherboards carefully and pulled up the hardware info in X3 Live Config and everything is identical.
Well, hope these test results help someone figure out the problem! I have been editing the post as things come to mind that I have tried.

mmm, game works fine on my Pal 1.1 version xbox, evox dashboard, but doesn't work on my friends with 1.6 version xbox, both are the same setup except for xbox models. 1st game ever to experience this.
