I got a iextreme 1.51 xbox and didn't burn new games since months. Up to now in this thread 2 persons said patching the ISO to wave3 worked, and two said it didn't. Which should I trust? I don't want to scrap 10 DVDs to get this working.
PATCHING THE GAME TO WAVE 3 WORKED LIKE A CHARM, I TOO AM RUNNING 1.51 ALSO I USED CHEAP-ISH MEMOREX DISCS.. RUNS FLAWLESSLY FOR ME
maybe I have to use another patch to patch it. What tool did you use to patch it to wave 3?
360 Waves Patcher , it will download whatever wave you want to patch your iso into and grab the patch files online automaticly.. great proggy..

I dunno about you guys but the release I grabbed, I ended up with the files awake pudding.dvd and awake pudding.iso ...
Pudding?!
My 360 is currently off for repair anyways but Im hoping it comes back fixed!
Of course I can't guarantee that your rls is correct, but mine had the same filenames and it's perfectly fine
Just check the files with ABGX to see if it's the real thing
Thanks man. Ill check it later after burning as I got my Xbox back today and fixed!

I got the pudding release too patched to wave 3 fine.
People here must be really blind not to see how bad it looks visually or they TV set is ancient, and i love how fanboys bash you when you tell them it looks like a game from the year 2003 dominating era of ps2, when it should look like a 2010 game for xbox360
like it was said before: Visually it looks like a ps2 game with its low rez textures and models are really low low ploy blocky as hell, its like they pimp up a bit the old Max Pain engine to use it on the consoles , but hey what did you expect from a no AA blured sub-HD resolution
Craig, when was the last time you looked at a PS2 game. Seriously, they look shit by todays standards,
Ok, so granted Alan Wake might not be the prettiest of games out there, but frankly, who gives a fuck, its not the ugliest either. If you're that shallow to allow graphics to ruin a perfectly acceptable gaming experience then please, go back to the PS2.
It's just some PC gamers who, like me, are disappointed that this is a "xbox exclusive" release, so we get that xbox out of the dusty closet and try it on, and yeah, gfx are far from a pc game.
Anyway, do all of you guys disconnect your boxes from the interwebs until release date? And do you make a new profile that you delete before connecting to Live? Or isn't there any risk to get banned from playing a game early?
MyGamerCard says there are 353 users with Alan Wake on their gamercard. That's probably 40 reviewers and 313 bans.
Interesting video review and Miss Hungary could have my kittens any day.
While I didn't agree with more than 50% of what she said that 50% had validity.
It says, reading, then says play game but doesn't show a splash and when I launch it, it fails and says it can't read the disc. Really weird.
Gonna have to try the GLOBAL release
Sounds like a patching problem. Had the same thing happen to me with MW2 back then, when the stealth FW wouldn't want to start the game. I just use the PPF-patch from the forum here, works great
The atmosphere does look nice though sometimes but for the most part, graphics are crap in this game. But the game is still quite awesome and addicting. Started playing it today and it feels like youre part of a movie. Some parts are freaky as hell lol. So far Im liking it
ASUS Maximus XII Formula | Core i9 10900k @ 5.2Ghz | 32GB G.Skill DDR4 4200Mhz | EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hydro Copper | ASUS ROG PG35VQ
oh wow what a let down. and how did they end up with graphics WORSE than max payne 2?!?! i am devastated
That's Max Payne 2. Yea. . .
As for the troll, LolZing the PS2 graphics - get the hell off it. The game doesn't look like a PS2 game in the slightest. It does however have some questionable animation, and the lip-synching is off (if its even there). Those two facts really can't be debated. If this game has been in development for as long as the 360 has been out, then yea, its not going to be the prettiest or most technological game.
I will say the atmosphere are the selling points of the game. If someone managed to complete the game in a night, then there can't be much more than "Get Alan from A to B". Which is okay - but you'd have hoped for more. Also, the dialog swings from good to cheesy fairly swiftly, which I guess is the "point" - but if you didn't know that's how it was meant to be, you might think - "What is this shit. . .".
