0 is the only logical answer by any mathematical means.
any number higher than 0 creates a exponentially larger difference between the 2 sides of the equation.
any number smaller than 0 (negative) has the same effect. so -0.0001 to 0.0001 both prove too large of a number to use...
(with any smaller division of .0000~1 creating the same effect also)
if its infinity as the answer, they are just using that loophole to make a riddle that's unanswerable..without using the irrational status of infinity.

why do you have to find a value for x?
the answer to x/2=2x equals cabbage obviously

X/2 = 2X = paradox if you don't allow X=0. It's not a normal number in any case.

Lol, this is clearly an impossible solution if you exclude 0, if you multiply something and devide something by the same amount they will never be the same unless the basenumber is 0.

in both Greek and Cyrillic numerals (Chi and Kha) X means 600
So X / 2 = 300
and that should indicate that X = 150 since 2 X = 300, right?
then we google X 150 and look:
it's the Nilfisk Extreme X150, man this sucks |

You can divide and multiply 0 with any other number, the answer is 0
you can't divide BY 0 (in regular mathematics anyway)
in pc code I return 1

Can't be infinity either. A certain infinity times two is not the same as the same infinity divided by two.
But no worries, I've cracked it! X = B, and B = 0. Tada!

It seems like you made a mistake along the way to this last equation. Maybe you should post the whole exercise.

If x cannot be 0,
x/2 = 2x
x = 4x
x/x = 4x/x (x != 0)
1 = 4
There you go, we shook the very foundations of math. Edit: Shit, silly paradox was mentioned already.

(-6X+1)^2=(1)^2
Lol, that step is wrong ...

Why make it so complicated? If we assume that X can't be 0, then we must be allowed to divide the equation by X. Doing that results in 1/2 = 2 which is an obvious paradox.
End of story.
