I think everyone is capable of murder so it would depend on the reasons behind it to how I would react.

Platonic love is just as conditional as romantic love, of course the conditions can be different but that doesn't necessarily mean one if more fragile then the other.
You would react similarly if your partner (whom you love) told you they had committed murder, so your example is flawed if you're trying to show a dichotomy in conditioning between platonic and romantic 'love'.
