I burned this on a Ritek Ridata DL because I am out Verbs and cannot afford them at the moment. The game boots up fine and starts. I installed the 9919 update and when I go to install it to HD it gets about 50% and says Error the disc may be dirty or scratched and stops the install. I just burned it again and the same things happens. This is the Strange version and I am already banned so I didn't worry about the SSV2. Has anyone else run into this since the new update?

most likely those dvd's are crap, try burning it on a Verb.
Also if you have the iextreme LT 1.0, that has some read bugs in it on the Liteon drives. My box gave me a couple of read errors when I was playing/installing some games, even though I know for a fact the disc's clean.
Not sure that's the problem though, but just thought I should mention that.

Yeah, I know they are crap but I have been able to use them without issue. The only thing I worry about is my dvd drive laser working over time to read a Ritek, otherwise they work fine. But if I install the game I am playing then the laser doesn't work over time. I will have to get some Verbs as I know they are the best for the X360. I was just curious if anyone else ran into a similar issue. Usually the 2nd burn works out fine and the game installs. But this is the first install I have done since I was banned.
Thanks,
MD

Correct me if I am wrong, but:
1. Does the game ALWAYS point out where to go and gives HINTS that are REALLY impossible not to notice?
2. It is really easy to eliminate bad guys, because they hardly even are able to detect you, and even if you kill some of them the rest pretty much don't care about it - they run like crazy for a time and then resume their positions?

But killing them is harder then before. In the previous games you usually could sneak up to every guard and take him out silently. Here it is often much harder or even impossible, so you often need to avoid contact altogether.

What about the first main level? the mansion? Technically it's linear but there are a hell of a load of ways of getting in / to the money spot

Just completed it, have mixed thoughts on the game.
1) Didn't look as polished as previous SC games. Usually each new game ramps the image / graphics quality up but this one looked a little 'flat' and dull. It just didn't stand out as well and, maybe it's just me, didn't look anywhere near as good as Double Agent.
2) A little too actiony. Nothing wrong with that, it's just not really SC though, is it. The scripted events were a little tedious towards the end. Walk down this seemingly empty corridor, reach point X, bad guys appear from thin air, retreat, set up defensive position. Wash, rinse, repeat.
3) The Night Vision. Seriously, wtf? Why?!!? It was terrible. The actual night vision itself was utterly, utterly poor and the 'sonar' aspect? Well, that made me think someone at Ubi played Batman:AA and shouted "Hey guys, how freaking cool is this?!?! We should steal it!" It's all very well in a game based on a comic book but in SC? No! Not to mention it became useless when you moved.
4) Weapons, why the large selection? Utterly pointless. Six different pistols, five of which are more or less identical once upgraded. Same goes for the other weapons, SC3000 or M468? Who cares, they're more or less the same gun dressed up differently.
5) Enemies that are seemingly indestructible. Whose idea was this exactly? At one point in the game, as I'm silently trying to eliminate people. A soldier appeared below me, he was wearing no helmet, he was bald. I shot him right in the head with my pistol (full upgraded) and he grabs his head and goes "Owww!!" before proceeding to try and find me!?!? And this was par the course towards the end of the game. Enemies that can take multiple shots to the head with assault rifles yet you can be completely unlucky, get hit once and it's game over.
6) How short? I mean, it seemed so much shorter than previous games and once finished it felt completely unsatisfying. We've been waiting, what, four years for this and this was what they give us?
It's so-so. Doesn't really feel like an SC game, it's good as an action game but I feel that they could have used any character and it'd have worked (it actually felt like they were going all 24 / Jack Bauer with this one)

Every time I shoot someone in the head, they die. I guess if you've got it on mega hard that may not be the case - but certainly on normal it's always been fine.
Are you confirming there IS night vision? I'm on the second level and already sick of the whole black and white while in shadows. I want to be able to see clearly in the dark...!
As for "too many weapons" - who gives a shit?

At the end of the game it's almost impossible to get a kill-headshot, even with the most powerful weapon. On normal.
There's no night vision, only the sonar from the demo.
Everyone gives a shit because a large selection of weapons supposedly means different approaches and combat styles. Unfortunately you will use only one pistol and one rifle. Useless pile of guns, just like in BFBC2.

The previous SC games were planned for you as well. Every guard had a movement pattern that made him walk past a shadow or a destructible light source.
