Ubisoft: “Super hardcore” games stopping industry from growing

Quote:
Splinter Cell: Conviction creative director Max Beland has said that proper “super hardcore” games will stop bringing growth to the industry.Speaking with Industry Gamers, he said the challenge was to “balance” both the core and less committed gamers with Conviction.“I think it’s a subject that is very touchy right now because as an industry we want to grow,” said Beland. “We need to stop making games that are super hardcore. But we’re afraid because we don’t want to lose the hardcore people!“At the same time, it’s a challenge because the journalists – the people that rank us – are usually hardcore. So it’s a real challenge to find a balance and make your game [appealing to all].”He further added: “I don’t like the word accessible because it makes it sound like you’re dumbing down your game. But to me, Call of Duty is very accessible. So yes, it is something we want to do – I’d love for 10 million, 60 million people to play the games we make.”

Quoting iNatan in another post:

And while we're at it....why do we need graphics card, or next gen consoles or as even the cockmaster Molyneux said it himself the new generation of motion controls like Natal when we can all go back to the golden age of "softcore" to games like Tetris and....on second thought nevermind Tetris is to hardcore if you "think" about it.

Even the porn industry is suffering from the lack of interest in hardcore porn anymore. Mark my words....softporn shall rule again Smile.

What's the difference between a vegetable and a casual gamer....only one of them pays for your games.

and to respond to Ubisoft Max stupidity : so they games are SOOOOOO hardcore they needed to streamline the shit out of them just to make a three year old could play it...................ehm too bad its a M game, wait a minute so Ubisoft thinks mature people are so stupid or backward retarded they treat mature audience as kids
in other words "we what to steal a lot of shit from MGS4 but somehow we fucked it up and it looks like that 2008 Bourne game, we know is sad Sad but our egos will tell otherwise Very Happy oh and PC will have better resolution"

That's interesting, since I had a playthrough with 100% (full)stealth on the hardest difficulty.

The only part where it could have happened was in the Displace building where players might forget to record the dialogue about Nedich, but otherwise...no idea what bug that pissibly be.

The Bathhouse end part (the one in Neon spoilers) IS still a goddamn killer for me. Every time I complete the game, I just can't get it right and have to replay it for about 21 times... Ridiculous, but cool.

I've been reading through the comments and this one is a real gem:
"Wow Sam has a weapon that can shoot around corners!!!"
There was no smiley face at the end of that sentence. No hint of sarcasm.
WTF is Ubisoft thinking, don't they check their game footage before releasing them?

Quote, plus: that bitch is apparently head of the creative department of Conviction... she says in the video that the "wall texts" are one of the features she likes most in the game... this shows you what happens when you let women out of the kitchen and put them in game design Laughing
