|
 |
Does anyone know if it's possible to somehow "detach" the whole LCD panel with the USB port that's on top of the keyboard?
It's a the first version of the G15 with the LCD panel which you can flip up.
The reason I would want to do this is because I've got a new keyboard yet the LCD itself is almost an invaluble tool for me when I'm just sitting around the computer. It's great for games, it's great just regular use as well. But the keyboard itself is huge and takes up way too much space, therefore I'd like to get rid of all the rest.
I've tried googling it but havne't been able to find anything, that's why I'm asking here if perhaps someone has heard or done this before.

no never found a source for that, my display has lost its bulb lighting and it looks rather "bitty/fiddly", to remove even the casing of the whole keyboard, as i see it alot moves about in there...
so I dont tend to use it no more, at night especially

ok, you know what a g15 looks like, right?
Well, at to top of it there's an LCD panel for games and such. Okey, so since I don't use the keyboard anymore and all I need is the actual LCD panel. I was wondering if there's a way to remove it from the rest of the keyboard, with the LCD panel being still functional and intact.
Sort of like sawing the whole thing off... ^_^

But is it doable for a newbie such as myself or does there have to be some know-how behind it?
Cause my first thought would be to just, and this might sound stupid, saw it off and hope that works. o.O
