Im having issues with this game, I am already banned so that is not the problem. I so far have burned disc 1 and disc 2..disc 2 runs fine, I put the game in, and it asks me to put in disc 1, which I do, but when I do that, it just says "Loading" and nothing happens and I dont hear anything running inside the xbox 360, just keeps on saying loading yet nothing is happening

No. It's not that bad AT ALL. Not even close, ffs. Yes, the 360 version has some graphical issues - but for crying out loud, that picture you linked looks like it was recorded from an SDTV via coax

Just over 9 and a half hours in now, really starting to get into it. Unlocked a few Eidolons (my GOD the Odin fight was murder until I started mixing twin Ravenger with twin Medic) and weapon upgrades too. The upgrade system confuses the shit out of me because I just don't know which component works best with each weapon... grrr.
wow those xbox360 users sure got shafted , not only Square-enix can't compress movies but they in-house studio sucks at making xbox360 titles, like they last game The Last Remnant = utter failure at optimizing
now its ugly shitty blocky movies , no AA , 576p in-game on xbox and awful dithering errors mixed with vanishing textures and ugly texture alpha blending shitty mesh
Square was know for quality but this is Square-enix and you know it will be shit

Time to burn, delete disk 1 from 360, install disk 2, play.

And the whole 'this is your party leader and you can't change it haha!' is really pissing me off. Ok I'm done being hand-held SE, you can let me play my game now I get it. It's not like combat is even that challenging. 'auto-attack' 'auto-heal' 'auto-win'. Why even bother making me push A? just let them fight and I'll just swap shifts as needed. Jeez.
This game is like the ultimate RPG troll. Everything is does spits in the face of every rpg convention known to man. Oh hey, look I can customize weapons...wow I'm 5 starring all these fights....WHERE THE FUCK ARE ALL MY COMPONENTS? And gil...where the fuck is it? I have like....4000g. Enemies don't drop it...can only get it from chests? WTF?
Yet despite all the aggravation, I love it. I honestly am completely absorbed by the story, and the characters...oh my god, they all so good. Except maybe Vanille, fuck she's kinda pissing me off, but all the rest of em are so well done.
9/10 just because OMG lesbian Shiva twins scissoring to turn into a motorbike....*fap**fap**fap*

yup, that pretty much sums up the game so far. lots of annoying stuff init, but cool to play. I like just rotating the camera around during the fight. At least i am controlling something..

I'm not gonna play the xbox version any more but wait for my PS3 to be delivered but damn so far I am somewhat disappointed by Square Enix.

The game looks the same. Overall the ps3 is better. Because it has only one disc and better videos because the bitrate is way higher.

yes you can see the difference , one runs in 576p the other in 720p (check the hair and aliasing on the edges of those models) , xbox360 movies are down coded to 720p with no vbr or 7 passes making those heavy moving action pixelated as fuck

I've played this game for about an hour now and i am really digging it, i only played FF7 a long time ago and i am not a fan of turn based RPG but in this game its not that much of a problem.
Perhaps because of the combat and gameplay being at a fast pace maybe the combat is a bit simplistic but i dont know if that opens up a bit more when you progress through the game.
Oh and the CGI movies are stunning. (no i havent compared to ps3 and i dont care)

Some of these bosses are really tough. I now got all party members and everyone can learn every paradigm (costs quite a lot to learn, though)
Personally, I can't see a huge difference. It's much ado about nothing IMO.
Having said that, if I was actually going to buy the game then it would be stupid to not go for the better version if you have that option, but I really don't see it as xbox only users being shafted in this case.
He was talking about the pictures from INGAME, not the poorly encoded FMVs. For the most part, he's right; they are pretty close to identical. The only glaring differences are (as I've said for the eleventieth time now) the dithering and alpha channel on things like hair/crystal/cloth.
As far as the average gamer is concerned though, the differences are negligible and not worth a huge fucking fanboy war over.
Graphics = beautiful for the most part.
Audio = absolutely top notch, best voice acting in a JRPG yet.
FMVs = Why oh god why SE?
Gameplay = amazingly fun, punishingly difficult if you don't work your paradigms properly.
I just started disk 2 after around 10hrs play and I stopped there so I could catch up on PC stuff.

This is the only apparent non-biased review Ive found so far. Its a good balanced review and from what he says, I think I will love the game.
I never loved FF for its epic freedom and open areas of mostly empty space. I liked it because of the environments, story and atmosphere of being in another world.. and all realized very well with great graphics and good combat. That seems to be it in a nutshell so..
