3. Is the only valid way to rack up some kills to camp? or is run and gun viable? I like unreal tournament, where if you stand still, you're dead, but I am ready to compromise (l4d2, tf2 or even CSS, but no less). I hate camping, it bores me to death, and that's what mw2 is.
run and gun is definitely viable. The most stationary class is probably sniper, but a good sniper is always mobile
try flanking the enemy with assault squad, if done right/lucky you can get lots of easy kills on people who are all looking the other way.
it's also fun to sneak into the enemy base, kill the people waiting for the raptor and take it yourself

only viable thing is run around.. or run and hide.. run and shoot will end up in you dead within 2s..
camping.. yes.. this is definitely campers game , everyone camps.. half recipes snipers..
they even take tanks. and camp in same hills.. and shit..
so if you hate campers.. you shouldn't bother with this game ( i suppose different maps and stuff will change that to some extend , but there is too much camping in this game )
This is a battlefiled game, for pete's sake. What, you think in real life there are no "campers"? Everyone "camps", as in takes cover to not get shot - nobody wants to die.
When you are on defense, snipers are more an annoyance rather than a serious threat. Unless you venture too far off your defense points, you will probably be revived by medic should you get hit. Even more so if you are in a decent squad.
There are enough points on the map where you can take cover from sniper fire and still be in a good defensive position. I think it actually keeps the action a little more tense and balanced - you learn to use cover to advance instead of running and gunning and it makes it clear that you are better off with a squad (or at least other teammates).
Anyway, I think it's the C4 that makes Recon class more dangerous, all it takes is for one guy to sneak into your base and boom go the M-Coms.
Also small addition about the FOV, I think it was said that they'll add the ability to change FOV to retail in a later patch, so it won't be available from the start.
If you buy from game.co.uk it will be just a tiny bit cheaper when you include delivery costs
Unless you live in UK, then it's definitely cheaper in Game.
sigh, just looked through Play.com's delivery estimate for international orders - 7-10 days! Cancelled my order and placed an order at a local online retailer, 10 euro more than Play.com but at least Im gonna get to play the full game on the 4th.
love how all those 'extra features' were not so long ago pretty much the norm for a pc game but are suddenly all fresh and new again. Nice vid though game looks good still, and multiple monitor support and dx11 is all good.
Based on comments in the console section (X360 version is out since a few days.) it seems the main SP story is rather short at around 5 - 7 hours or so.
(Said five hours in that post and on Gamefaqs one user said it took around 7.)
Though it doesn't mean much, Metro 2033 seems very promising but is also only around 8 hours or so based on that Gamestar review.
