I thought the XML profiles were coming in 9.1? But haven't we heard that before? ATI promising something and delivering, if at all, at a distant future. First 9.1 was supposed to be the big driver, now it's "trust us, 9.2 and 9.3 are HUGE!" Come 9.3, it will probable be 9.6, and so on.

10.1 were supposed to be big but was mostly bug fixes and a few game improvements, 10.2 I'm uncertain about as I don't use the beta drivers available so they could have some addition and 10.3 is mostly speculation.

Got sorta messy as well with those hotfixes, I'm using the 8.69.3 drivers now myself although it's just to be updated as the only change from 8.69.1 (ME2 hotfix) is a potential fix for the 5000 series so called "gsod" problem.

NVIDIA is rather quiet as well but I guess most goes to Forceware 200 or something along with FERMI and CUDA 3 (PhysX and all that updated for the new card's structure and potential, quite a lot of work for them I imagine.)

EDIT: Heh yeah it got a bit off topic now didn't it.

after playing through me2 twice, i went back and started re-playing me1 with latest patch and all expansions from the beginning again. is it me or is there more stuff/content in me1 than in me2? you get a vast variety in armors and equipment in general. plus you get to roam around in your mako planet side.

the same warehouse layout on the planet side is a bit of a let down though. it's strange but to me it seems like you get more with me1 than me2. i bet in me3 you get less content than me2? by then me1 would have more content than both me2 and me3 combined. Very Happy

I think most of the perceived extra content is superfluous, you CAN roam around in your mako for a few planets. But it gets just as boring and annoying as scanning planets does. Same with looting weapons and armour, after a few hours you're turning everything to omnigel so it just becomes another task. idk, to me ME2 felt way more packed with actual things to do.

I found the main missions more fun in ME1. All you do in ME2 is gather a team.

Thats not true at all, did you scan planets for distress calls etc...you can do alot side missions Embarassed. Sure the main objective is to get a team, but there is alot more in this game.

me2 suffers from middle-child syndrome i think.

first game has to stand alone, so its a much more 'complete' and expansive experience.

but when you turn that complete game into a trilogy, you usually have to sacrifice the middle game as a 'bridge' to set up and connect to the finale.

that being said, i enjoyed having a much more focused experience. i think ive said it before, but when i have TOO much freedom, it usually gets in the way of the core story and lessens its impact.

BUT i agree. the game needed more freedom. more places to go and missions to do. not HEAPS more, but at least a little more.

Hence why I used the words "main missions". Besides, the side missions are hardly better in ME2. In the first one, you fought Thresher Maws and shit. All you do in ME2s side missions is run around for 5 minutes pushing buttons and having the occasional firefight.

You fight one Maw, in a main (kinda) mission. Besides, the battle is lame as hell.

As opposed to fighting them on the Mako in ME1, circling around like an annoying bee? Razz

Heh, hey, atleast the Maw had more than 1 attack. Besides, if you were really hardcore, just fight it on foot. Cool Face

Lol, did you actually play more than one sidemission in ME1? EVERY mission is pretty much EXACTLY the same. Even the layout of the places you go to (warehouse, bases, etc) is EXACTLY THE SAME. You enter the base, etc, and enter a small room with no enemies with bunch of crates containing useless equipment that was obsolete to you 3 levels ago. Then you go into the main big room with enemies. REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT.

THere are 19 sidemssions in ME2, and they actually have some variety, and you don't enter the same warehouse or base 19 times.

Equipment was a complete joke in ME1 and you NEVER found anything useful in any crate or container. Good riddance. Finally, I wouldn't call equiping Armor I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and then last but not least, ARMOR X as better. Same for all other equipment.

I wonder if anyone who played ME1, actually opened every container they found throughout the whole game. Now THAT would be funny.

You're clearly not a 'completionist' Wink Of course I opened every single container I found! That's what I do in games, no matter how crappy the reward!

How do you have sex with Miranda after you've done her loyalty stuff? I've saved the galaxy and now back in the ship she still won't have sex with me.

Nope, I sided with Miranda. The closest I got to romancing her was an advance she turned down because she wanted to focus on the mission, or something along those lines.

Lol. Me too, almost. I'm clearly not quite as much a completionist as you as I left 3 or 4 I didn't have the skill to open and couldn't be arsed going back for.

I did mark them on my map with all intentions to, but when I came to it I changed my mind.

I think I did first time I played it but it was a long time ago so not sure.

Well, I only did it the first playthrough and I actually made sure I always had someone in my party with enough skill to open everything. Wasted quite some useful points in those skills early in game, to get them maxed as soon as possible Very Happy

Oh well, at least I stopped depleting planets after a while in ME2, so I'm turning less crazy perhaps Razz

if i installed all the available DLC's and used the commandline tool to activate them (along with disabling online connectivity within the game) and the game still tells me that it can't activate Zaeed, what would you guys recommend me to do?

According to BioWare, yes. But they said the same for the first game, and we all know the crap it got as DLC.

zaeed was a disappointment...haven't been to the normandy crash site yet.
I thought it was pretty ridiculous how you meet Zaeed and 20 seconds later he joined your team and is on his way to your ship.
I hope their upcoming DLC is a bit more interesting than that.

If they do better, I'd be happy to purchase some dlc to shorten the wait for mass effect 3.

Cerberus took care of hiring Zaeed, so I don't see anything wrong with him joining you shortly after you meet him.
