You still getting that?

Lock your 2D/3D profiles with MSI AB, see if that solves it. I think I need to send some requests to the driver team, silly Powerplay fucking stuff up!

Yeah I solved it using the locked settings but it would be nice to not need to do that Wink!

No need really, I just install over the old ones. With Windows 7 it doesn't even require a restart, just flashes a few time and works. Very Happy

@ sYn: Yeah of course, but if that fixes it for the time being, then that's at least easy to do. 10.2 and 10.3 are both gonna be major updates apparently, so we'll just have to wait and see Smile

At least it's easier than fixing a G80/G92 that has broken down after a year, at which point you either go for RMA or you (and this is no joke) bake it in an oven to fix it

Hotfix, builds upon Catalyst 10.1 hotfix and adds a fix to the so called "gray screen" problem for ATI 5800 series of cards, might be another fix later on for other models like the ATI 5700 or perhaps this driver already works for those.

Yes that's what I meant, it includes everything from the previous 10.1 driver releases.
(Version number being 8.69.3 like the hotfix but with a additional .1 so 8.69.3.1.)

It's still the 8.69 build even though these are dated February 2nd so it's separate from any ongoing builds like 8.70 for those expecting these to kinda be beta 10.2 drivers.
(8.70 RC2 from 14th January are still the most recent there, might get a new leak perhaps, unsure when it's supposed to be released but 10.2 is a feature driver or what to call it so it'll probably take a bit longer than usual what with testing that Crossfire XML application and such.)

It's occuring with NFSU2 and NFSMW pretty annoying - the game just goes black and locks up.

Just had 5 windows updates and had like 8 reboots before I got into windows again - I almost decided to reinstall but then it suddenly came back but not before telling me my dvd-rom drive had drivers missing rofl wtf Confused

ATI's inbuilt "test" benchmark while a improvement is nowhear near as demanding as a proper game or a real benchmark utility like the stress test "favorite" Furmak, Overdrive in CCC also likes to over-increase the clock speeds a bit especially on the memory value.
(Just lower the speeds to default and increase them bit by bit while testing with a more demanding application, once unstable scale back 10 - 20 Mhz and it should work in most situations.)

Ok guys I'm trying to play BF2 1.50 and I can launch the game no problem join a server press "JOIN" then see the squad selection screen a bit of fighting in the background and then approximately 20 seconds later the game freezes for a just a sec then comes back fine then 10 seconds later the game crashes to desktop, same results launching the game normally or from within Steam. Will try a different server just in case that may have anything at all to do with it right...

Then what is it - weird all this starts after I change the video card - so how could it not be related to the video card?

I'm not playing favorites here if this isn't a video card/driver problem I don't know what the hell it is - and I've only been posting the truth about my problems not hiding anything - I just want the problems to go away!

Did you clean drivers properly? Also make sure chipset drivers and such are up-to-date; I had to reinstall my NFORCE driver as well (ATI card on an NFORCE mobo, go figure Very Happy) because NVIDIA are dicks.

Also, check the Windows Event Log (Start > Run or Windows+R, type in eventvwr and press OK) for any reports. If it's the videocard driver crashing, it'll tell you.

If your Windows did a ton of reboots and then complained about a missing DVD-ROM driver, that leads me to conclude it's something else in your system having problems. No matter how broken a videocard or its driver is, it won't do shit like that; or rather, I have never ever seen that happen, and I've seen a lot of weird shit

These are the 10.2 RC drivers.

Planescape: Torment doesn't work properly with these drivers.
