You can do one mission after IFF. Then something happens (Joker mission) and you can choose to go to the endgame or do more stuff. If you do more stuff, either some or the entire crew will die.

about the Tali & Legion thingies above, i'm confused -
I was referring to -> enlist all main (main as marked as "recruit the..."in the journal ones) characters -> IFF mission to take Legion -> do Tali's loyalty mission with Legion as a companion (and hope for interesting dialogs)
what consequences are you guys talking about ? |
I think they mean by the time you get Legion, you only have time for one more mission (?) before its "too late" to save Chakwas. So you can bring him to Tali's mission, or do Legion's. Of course you could just do both and let some of the nameless crew die. |
Hmm... With current version of the game, I think it's possible... As I mentioned a few pages back, Joker mission - the one there you control Joker - triggered for me only after completing all loyalty missions including the Legion one. I think the activation of the Legion messes with Joker's mission trigger and you can use galaxy map to go whatever you like.
Actually, it's explains why I got the ship e-mail at the game end saying that half of the crew didn't make it as I didn't go for them ASAP. Back then this message confused me a lot, what crew are they taking about ? Everybody is here, the shipmates, the secretary and a doctor.
And now, I think my savegames could be damaged. What state of the crew will transfer to ME3, the "visual" one or "e-mail" one ?

Yeah Im not sure about the mission limit since I did everything before IFF. Then only Legion's mission was left, then Joker's triggered, then Omega 4. I remember getting some weird email that didnt fit.

is it me or was me2 very short. It seems like after you recruit everyone, the game bascially ends after 2 more missions...

Yeah I got this feeling too. Its like I spent all that time collecting people for just 1 mission. They should have padded that part a little more.

I hope you will more or less keep the new crew in Mass Effect 3 and not spend the whole game recruiting again...

Ok. I finally figured out why the DLC was not working for me.
Windows Firewall is fucking useless!
That's why! I blocked both, inbound and outbound connections to Mass Effect's launcher as well as the .exe. It didn't block shit whatsoever. I kept getting "unable to authorize listed dlc"
I had to disconnect my internet entirely for the unlocker to work. God, i can't even begin to explain how much this pissed me off.
Anyway. Turn off your modem, use the unlocker then go ingame to see if it is enabled.
I tried every damn thing that was suggested here but this finally did the trick.

If you look at it in a "glass is half empty" way, then yeah... but considering the majority of us got an average of 35-40hrs play? Then no, it's not short Don't look at the destination (the entire game is JUST you recruiting your crew and then fighting the Collectors) - look at the journey instead. |
Hm, I did everything, and I mean everything. Explored every galaxy and did every sidemission. I've got only two achievements left (romance and melee), did every research found all weapons execpt the flamethrower and geth pulse rifle. I didn't speed run. I've read interresting codex entries too. After I finished the game I took a look at my savegame and it said 27hours.
Seems to be a case for the x-files.

Yeah, wtf 40hrs, did you stand in one place admiring the passing cabs or something? Or watching the dancers in Omega for hours?

Anyone know which file stores all the achievements you reached? or how to enable console commands (like in ME1). I'd like to start the game with some of the loyalty achievements already done to get that extra skill.

Ye big deal one mission. I completed already with all missions.
Another explanation is you died a lot and had to reload a lot, getting an extra time "boost". (Which is perfectly fine, of course.)
You speak of ePenis, yet you flash your 40hrs time like it's some sort of an achievement, thus turning it precisely to ePenis.

Any other way to use the DLC besides turning off your connection?
Like using the old hosts trick... any of you have the link authentification server?

Use a good firewall to block traffic on the launcher.exe and Me2.exe (comodo is a good free firewall and antivirus solution)

Anybody know which ports the Cerberus Network uses so i can block them?
I tried blocking Mass Effect's Launcher and .exe with ZoneAlarm instead of Windows Firewall and it still won't work. I can only get the unlocker to work if i completely disconnect my internet connection.

Did you use the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security? Run %SystemRoot%\system32\WF.msc (that's what it is in Vista anyway, might be a bit different path in Win7 if you have it) and see if you have the programs blocked in the Outbound rules.

Pretty useless since I don't want to install another piece of software on a otherwise already bloated OS.

Still unable to get the DLC to show up in game. I must be doing something wrong, installed the .exe dlc, put the crack in the main mass effect 2 folder. Asks me if I want to save .ini, I pick yes. I start the game, nothing happens when I check my journal for new dlc mission.
Using nod32 to block launcher and me2.exe inbound and outbound.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I tried it. Blocked both inbound and outbound connection. Same problem...either it's a different application that does the authentification or like he said...Windows Firewall is a piece of shit.
Since MS track record isn't so good I would agree with the second statement.

I did. Blocked both, outbound as well as inbound traffic. No luck for some reason.
I Am wondering if any ports have to be blocked for Cerberus Network.

Hmm, that's pretty odd then... It's worked for all programs I've tried it with, and since some wouldn't even start if they get to call home, I know it's working for me.
