Wtf, googleing around and seems like any HDMI cable will do. Tried both my xboxes with HDMI input, but I can't choose higher than 480p :/

Any ideas?

using some cheap hdmi cable and i can select 1080i, max res of my tv, also supports max res of my monitor 1680x1050
either something is wrong with the cable u using or try to reset 360 video settings, u can also try different hdmi port on tv if available

What TV/monitor are you using? Paying more than about £10 for a HDMI cable is pointless. I can't believe people DO pay over £100!

Fuck, its the TV (Tatung 32" 720p max res, only got one HDMI input). Its forcing it to 480p somehow. I use component and optical cable running 720p, so not changing it... just wanted a easy way to hook two 360s to the TV. Will fuck around with some settings tomorrow :/
Worked flawlessly on my brothers 360 hooked up to a 40" Sammy, running 1080p.

So can't blame the 4 dollar cable, and yeah... digital signal is digital signal. I laugh at people who think they gold plated cables work that much better

the thing about good cables, you need to consider that you can still pay for a good quality cable in terms of materials (not "signal quality"). I have mostly cheapo hdmi cables and some are getting rough in terms of the connector coming a bit loose (I also damage a lot of rj45 network cable too). also if your running them behind furniture where it's likely to get squashed behind something it doesn't hurt to have a more durable cable either.

but no fucking monster cables ofc. but you can still buy good quality "cheap" cables Smile

Yeah, fuck... been so happy with my Tatung, never any problems. Not had the use for HDMI before now, so never tested the HDMI port.
Its not the cable or the 360, so got to be the TV.
