Yup. Spider-Man 4 as we know it has been cancelled and the current cast have been fired. S4, if it's even going to be titled as such, will be a total reboot of the series - and after the travesty of S3, I'm not shocked nor disappointed - with Peter Parker back in high school as it should be.

My guess is, in two years, after a third Nolan Batman film is released, a reboot for the franchised will be announced, with the intent to make the series more serious, mature, dark, etc. Indeed, this is an occurring theme; after each Nolan Batman film, there have been several such announcements, including Warner Bros./DC's own Superman franchise, after the awful result known as Superman Returns.

spiderman 2 sucked, spiderman 3 sucked, spiderman 4 was going to suck... and im sure the reboot is going to suck too... unless they give it to favreau... THEN ill be interested.

I'm beginning to hate reboots. It's fine rebooting an old series, but rebooting a franchiose that's been started a couple of years ago is just stupid. Just drop the franchise and come back to it after a couple of decades ffs.

I guess you didn't watch Spider Man 3... the franchise needs a change, but a different one: fire all Sony execs who interfered with it and let Raimi do what he did on Spider Man 1.

yea i guess nowadays movie are going in the dark and boring direction. loved the dark knight in the cinemas when it appered .tried to watch it again the day it was released on dvd. a fucking chore.on the other hand tdk wasn't boring because of its darkness but becuz of its length. anyway ignore this post

well i think this is one of those rare times where clearly a reboot would be the best thing. raimi did a fucking terrible TERRIBLE job on spider-man... its not like a franchise that started great then went bad, it was all bad all the time right from the start... raimi was just a really shitty creative force for spider-man.
not saying i give two shits about spider-man OR a reboot, but this is the one case where its completely warranted. spider-man was a train wreck and NO ONE could save it with a sequel, given how fucking thoroughly raimi has buried it.

perhaps they should just do spiderman vs twilight film... combine BOTH fucking teen fanbases, and make BILLIONS.

i say combine those franchises because they both have immature dipshit fans who loved the films, and weve all long since given up on the idea that either franchise could be anything other than a dribbly pile of shit, so fuck it... all in the name of money.

Well they'll probably do so. They say that they'll put Peter Parker back in high school, and they'll put some ripped kid who will walk without the shirt in the movie all the time so that little teenage girls in the theatre could scream

obviously im not saying he should SAY those words, so much as have that mindset.
he'd clearly not be burning bridges if he just ignores the previous films and CERTAINLY doesnt praise them and blow smoke up raimis ass... he clearly thinks that what raimis done is the right direction and intends to continue that way... you cant say thats not a worrying development.

studios don't care for story. they care for money.
venom would've brought in a crowd. they forced raimi to add him.
people came. studio made money.
movie sucked. therefore raimi sucks.
