					| |
					| couple days old apparently, but saw it pop up online listed as dvdrip... a pretty good copy of armored is available.. looks like sony fucked up and posted the film online for everyone to download for free via playstation store.
 can i get a FFFAAAAAIIILLLLL
just cracked me up reading about it. grabbed it last night, will probably watch it now and see if its terrible or not...
but regardless... have a laugh reading the story, then grab the film if you feel like it

its just hilarious... the movie industry doesnt need us ruining films box office chances with piracy... the dipshits are quite capable of doing it all by themselves!!!11 (sony is a distributor)

movie is still in theatres apparently, btw

					| What quality does PS Store have? Tehre is a DVDRIP out now, is the quality of the Store better? If so, I'll wait for a rip from there. | |

 Yuck!

But anyway, 5.8 on IMDb, so gonna wait for 1080p.
By the looks of it, it will probably come next month. | |

					| I'm not sure Sony fucked up at all. Somebody in the marketing department probably realised that nobody had ever heard of the film and in a panic pulled a viral stunt... can't go on a website without some reference to something called 'armored' (which even after reading all of these news stories and forum posts I still know nothing about), and the video store on PSN probably had quite a few hits more than usual. | |

					| Studios are usually anal about release dates for DVD's and such, I doubt this was done on purpose. I also never heard anyting about this movie, weird.

					| viral stunt? the ENTIRE FILM?
first 30 minutes -ONLY-, with a text ending say SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IN CINEMAS NOW!!!!11, and i might believe it was a publicity stunt... but no, this was a serious (ly hilarious) fuckup.

im 47mins through it.. so far, its really meh. surprising, given the actors that they assembled for this..

					| Not Xvid. If you know what HDBits is, there is something called SDBits They release h264 DVDRIPs anamorphic untouched stuff. Not sure if any of that is on Usenet though. :\ | |

					| Yes, they are. But if you are playing them on the mobile device, you can forget about playing h264 content at such resolutions on it. It's a very demanding task to decode the stuff, especially when CABAC, high number of reference frames, etc are involved.
XVID on the other hand should play fine. But on a monitor as small as the phone, do you really think you'll see a difference between regular DVDrips 640x272 and 720x480?

					| There were alot of HR/HQ Xvid releases in the past. I have no idea what happened to those. The releases were all AC3, but a simple recode of the audio stream should be enough.

well I still see macroblocking in some of the one cd rips, but this is more to do with bitrate.

I guess my thinking was that native resolution is always superior.

					| mkay finished... ehhh... i wouldnt say it was horrible... it had its moments - it just felt like a tv movie or an independant festival type film, certainly not a major, or semi-major, studio production... and for fucks sake, not with a cast like THAT...
id watch it one more time, then id be done with it. like i said, not TERRIBLE, but quite forgettable.

 an even 5/10.
