Problem: I turn it on, it goes into bootmii menu but the wiimote doesn't work.
If i reset the Wii it boots normally and skips boot 2.

I checked a few sites to see if it had to be a gamecube controller, which seems like a no. I did some googling but didn't find anything right away. Anyone have any ideas?

* BootMii only supports Gamecube controllers and the Wii's own buttons (Power/Reset/Eject)
Wavebirds are sometimes recognised/sometimes not. Try ensuring they are switched on before turning on the Wii
* The Power button chooses the next option and Reset button selects an option. Eject is only neeeded when prompted.

Thanks todd, not sure how i missed that. Really wish i wouldn't have done boot2 now. Don't want to get my lazy arse up all the time to play a game. Razz

It wouldn't be a big deal but i'm currently trying to sort out DRE's so it involves getting up every 5 min or so.

Use this http://wiibrew.org/wiki/BootMii_Configuration_Editor and set it to autoboot the menu.

Or just move the contents from the memory stick to your hard drive.

This GC controller requirement is bullshit, also the power/reset buttons don't work for all Wiis. Ppl are even saying not all GC controllers work properly.

Why can Priiloader and co. use the Wiimote and this can't ?

easy... bootmii is loaded before any ios is loaded. preloader is only loaded before the system ios (all other ios are loaded)

Well, that means my friend has to buy a GC controller over eBay so we can do a full NAND backup.

no thats not true. stop spreading wrong information and start to read the bootmii site instead of being spoonfed with tutorials

Well, in my friend's Wii, it couldn't be installed as boot2 AND the power/reset don't work for controlling it. And no GC controller of fucking course lol !

So, it's installed as IOS and I wanna do a full NAND backup to the SD card, it says in the readme I got to run it through the hackmii installer at the HBC. So, in that case, the WiiMote will work ?
