I am planning to visit cinema and watch Avatar in 3D. But my eyesight is bad - without glasses I could see forward without blurring no more than 40 cm. At that range "picture" is very sharp so to say Smile But 40cm is not enough even if would be sitting in front row.

So, the question is about 3D glasses, the cheap paper ones that will be given at the cinema. Will they work if I put them over my regular glasses ?

I would have thought the 3D glasses would be designed so that people who wear prescription glasses can still wear them.

EDIT: Phone the cinema.

Called the cinema, told me there shouldn't be any problems with putting 3D glasses over the regular nor with 3D effect.
But they couldn't answer whatever 3D glasses for Avatar 3D differs from regular 3D glasses. They look like the typical 3D glasses, they said.

Leo, in your local cinemas do they provide special glasses ? Or I misunderstand that you meant with "not the Red/Cyan glasses" ?

3d cinemas usually use polarized light and the glasses have filter-glass in them. It looks like normal see-through glasses. Can also be made out of plastic i think. Usually made a bit bigger, so one can wear em in front of the normal glasses as well.
So it shouldnt be the Red / Cyan glasses.

I have a 4D screen I want to sell
 Spoiler:

Quote:
"Standard flat panel LCD and plasma displays ranging in size from 15 inches to 50 inches are fitted with a wavelength optical filter. The filter, designed by 4D-Vision of Germany, works by deflecting light from the screen according to its color. Red, green and blue light is deflected in different directions to create left and right eye views in eight adjacent viewing plains. The result is a wide angle, multi-viewer, 'no glasses' 3D display."

This 3D glasses stuff is ridiculous and gives me a headache Razz

Are cinema releases generally slower in Israel? I thought it would be the only middle eastern country that got cinema releases... at least as fast as Scandinavia^^

These actually look good, here we have them like that, but they are big and totally 'clumsy' to wear (my ears are falling off after an hour or so). I would like to see it as IMAX, I've heard that's kinda cool Very Happy
