Does this fix the bugged map as well? The game worked fine on my ATI card, except for the map, which made the game pretty annoying for me.

A lot of people already announced at official forum that patch doesn't work for them. Think that this is caused due to this that patch is BETA. Well...

Do you mean when the overlay icons were floating? That was a bug? Laughing I too found it odd, but didn't know it was a bug.

no when i enter diffeent events , in short when you get a loading screen

sometimes it just keep loading and i have to kill the game through task manager

Yep, that's what I meant! Because the floating icons didn't match the underlying map, I couldn't set the GPS to the locations I wanted, which was extremely annoying. At first I also thought I was just not pressing the right buttons, but after googling the issue, I found some EA forum thread about it, with that 'Sledge' guy saying it was part of the ATI bugs. So it was indeed a bug! Very Happy Guess I'll just have to try the patch to see if they fixed that part as well.

Then it seems there's a few engine bugs in the game together with the issues that the patch is concentrating on fixing.
(This current beta only deals with ATI cards sometimes freezing up the game when in the menu mode or what to call it and the other issue that is being looked into is bad streaming when using a quad core resulting in visual "gaps" or glitches when moving between areas as data is streamed in a slower way or sometimes incorrectly.)

If it just loops in the loading screen it might be another side issue of that streaming bug, try to reduce the cores used (Alt-tab, task-manager and set affinity.) so it uses a dual-core setup if you use a tri or quad core CPU. (CPU core 0 and 1 only being active.)

Haven't needed this myself however as the game has functioned aside from a few gaps here and there due to streaming and the occasional menu freeze (Rather rare and alt-tab always solved it so it wasn't a big problem but it's nice to see it fixed.)

Seeing the situation with Pandemic however I don't know if the final patch will fix much at all aside from these two more known critical issues as there's no real team working with the game. (Unless EA has something to work with the game code and produce something better as there's only a few employees left from Pandemic to deal with this since the team got laid off, guess Mercs didn't give enough profit compared to EA's cost with publishing, advertising and the copy protection and distribution and retailing.)

Tried the patch and no change in the bugged map. Since the map is pretty much useless for me now, I'll keep this game shelved, hoping for a fix in the future.

Beta patch work fine for me. No freeze anywhere even in the full map. I use the mini image fix 2 with vcd v 10.
I tested in 2 dif pc configs with core 2 and I7 920.


Intel I7 920, 6GB RAM
ATI Radeon 4890 1gb
Windows 7 64x

the beta fix is wonderful. no more pause menu freezes. no more random hangs. the floor still drops out while driving. the pause menu map overlay is still broke. there is an infinite load screen when you ask one of the ladies to dance for you. some of the water doesn't have any texture so it's all white.

total game time: 17:20:47
mission progression: 94%
freeplay targets progression: 15%

Sounds like the streaming issues they mention in the patch notes. Have you tried setting it to only use 2 cores instead of 4? (if you have a quad core)

it's a pain when racing through the city. if your vehicle hits the part of the ground that doesn't have texture, the game freezes until the texture is loaded. this might take 25-30 seconds. that might be fine, but the race clock keeps counting when this happens. so you automatically lose 25-30 seconds of the clock out of 1:45 time needed to beat the race. Sad

you'll have to try to avoid the missing ground textures like driving through the sidewalk or plowing through a ton of civilians.

no. i don't plan to knock off 2 of my 4 cores (i pay good money for 4 cores). i might try changing the affinity when i'm on my 5th retry of the race. Very Happy

edit:

i got through the first 2 races by setting affinity to 2 and bumping the priority to high. unfortunately, right after the end of the 2nd race, while on my way to the third race, the screen froze on me. alt-tab did not help. i had to use task manager to kill the game process. so using 2 cores do minimize the ground texture dropouts but it causes the screen to freeze. oh, well. it's a good thing i saved right after the 2nd race. Very Happy

i just finished all the races. Very Happy

Mission Progression: 100%
Freeplay Targets Progression: 15%

think if my issue will be fixed. Game runs smooth but sometimes there is a huge FPS fall, mainly when I go outside of town. There is stuttering for 5-10 sec. and then games go back to run smooth.


btw. Missions for Father Denis and this La Crouchet (or something like this) is side mission if I think correctly?

Won't just forcing it work?
(For nHancer try a profile that supports deferred shading otherwise, for NVIDIA atleast, ATI users can try UT3.exe or Bioshock.exe or similar.)

5870, MassEffect.exe, UT3.exe, Bioshock.exe, Oblivion.exe, none of them works, SSAA from CCC doen't work too.

Pretty sure it's the first one, hit the head of one and get the bullet to hit another behind to kill both, probably need a good damage output for both to be kills though.
(Lining them up might be a issue as well.)

Ah you don't have to hit the head or something, I just posted a suggestion that would guarantee a kill and hopefully take out anything the bullet passes by behind the first target.
(Unsure what hit zones the game uses but I guess shots to the head will be more fatal, unsure how bullet penetration works as well, probably just "soft" targets like characters.)

EDIT: Why not shoot two civilians to practice a bit, they're useless anyway and if you don't overdo it the alarms shouldn't go off either.

Get the second sniper, Steiner, run, go around the Arc de Triumph, perfect lines ups for 2 kills. Did it in 10 minutes.

Also, I was on some AA gun with all the towers detroyed around it, and I could keep shooting zeppelins for 50 stuffz. As soon as it would take a hit, a new one would spawn in a 360 arc and nothing raised an alarm.

Stupid buggy game lol.

I want to blow some train bridges (it needs 5 to get a perk), but i cant use the damn special bombs that are used to blow bridges ( i dont know the name).

I check the shop, it says i have the ammo at max for that bomb, but i cant use it.

Maybe you cant use those bombs any more after finishing the main story?!

How the hell im suppose to blow those bridges???

yeah i know, but when you select a weapon ( that bomb is grey), and i know you need to go to a specific point to plant the bomb.

I go there, and i cant use the bomb....
